Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

3139.

Edit........just noticed that the image of the headunit on the letter isn't of the 730N with the Nav fitted.
There's no Nav button!!!

It also mentions this, and I quote, " Turn into your nearest authorised Jeep Dealership for your Jeep's next scheduled log book service and you'll receive a complimentary Navigation Map Update worth $199, courtesy of Jeep Australia.

Does this mean that you're only entitled to it if you get a service done by them?

So is this just a cynical attempt to get lots of people to book and pay for a service , for an upgrade to the Nav that actually costs jeep diddly squat?

Is this really a fiat dunking response to the tribunal direction??

Selling a court mandated upgrade to maps, as a "value-add" feature to your next paid service...

They're taking the piss, surely?

Ignore that. Just ring up and book in for the Nav update. Some people may have just serviced their vehicles and would not be due for another 6 months, and letter would have expired by then.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Okay, as frustrating as this is, take a deep breath. Breathe. Relax.

Regardless of what Jeep say in their letter - remember you have every right to get the fix for free whenever you want.

The merchandise is faulty. Full stop. As the judge said, she didn't have to go past the first principle. Jeep failed. The merchandise is faulty. You are entitled to get it fixed or replaced.

Sending out a time limited letter doesn't change this fact.

Just go to your state tribunal and apply for a hearing. Pay the cost (in ACT about $65). Remember- you can apply for a refund of all costs to be paid for by Jeep.

I am happy to send copies of the ACT case and you can even go on line and get the transcript of the full hearing - including admissions by Jeep and what the Judge said about the product. The cost for that is about $300. Not binding on another state - but very influential. But remember, costs will go to Jeep if you win.

I am personally disappointed in Jeep - the letter is misleading.

So the more people who register at a Tribunal - the more Jeep will think about their management style.

People power - it is up to you.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Giving 2 months to carry out this upgrade is just so wrong.
I am sure the ACCC would take a very dim view, as would the court in the ACT. Setting such a short limit, as well as finding out some dealer still do not have the disks is just treating their client like shit.....AGAIN

Jeep AU do not seem to understand that the only good car they have is the JGC and if they continue to piss off their loyal customers, we will not be buying another Jeep.

The issue is that Jeeps phenomenal sales growth here in Australia is all about new customers, many like I, have never owned a Jeep before. Considering issues like the Nav System, over servicing, over priced servicing, parts availability and now the DPF issues, I wonder how many existing owners will ever buy another Jeep? CJA are very focussed on building sales, and the JGC appears to be doing that by itself. But they have, and have had, a great opportunity to build a brand here in Australia, of which they are failing. I think the damage to Jeep reputation caused by Jeep's mismanagement in so many cases will eventually catch up with them.

Just received an email from FiatChrysler Group re the stupendous offer of the "free" map update. So I guess will not be getting a letter

But at least it does have the code

You are so right.

The Grand Cherokee is my first modern jeep and i love it but most likely will be my last.
My wife wanted a new car as well and when she suggested another Jeep i said Hell NO.
We bought a Hyundai Santa fe for her.

Touch wood over all my GC has ben great
The Original selling dealer Well thats a whole other story.

The new Dealer better, but still far too Dam dear parts like oil filter $60plus dollars is a joke
I have buy my own oil because none of the dealers use the correct Oil.

Some times i think those in charge of JA are trying to destroy the brand.
