Does anyone have an email address for Glen Jones? We need to bombard him and express our outrage!

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Today I received my letter from Jeep on the 'complimentary map update' that appears to be tied to a service and with a limited time.

I can only say that I was stupid and fooled by Glenn Jones, Senior Manager - Frontline Aftersales, Fiat Chrysler Group.

As required by the court, on 6/3/14 we received a personal letter from Mr. Jones that included:

"I understand how frustrating this period was for all concerned.""As a valued customer of Fiat Chrysler Australia, I would like to reassure you of our continuing support of both you and your vehicle."

I did not want to release more details, but I am saddened that it appears Jeep was not sincere in regretting the fact that they knew, and continued to sell, faulty sat navs. Nor in their desire to fix this fault.

Glenn Jones email address was given above. His telephone is : 03 8698 0200.

Regardless of what is written in the letter: The sat nav is faulty. Jeep have to fix it. There is no time limit. I suggest you take it to your dealer and get the update done, you are not required to buy a service.

If Jeep or your Jeep dealer continue to be difficulty - head to your state Tribunal.

I sent Glenn an email this afternoon, after deleting the expletives. I will report results.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I spoke to my dealer today who was happy to book the car in for the upgrade, I then made it clear that I do not want the scheduled service and that I will not be paying for the upgrade. He was a bit confused. He also told me that he is not even sure if he has the software to perform the upgrade. I left it at that. I then called Jeep customer assist, the lady (not Tracey) then told me that she could not authorize the upgrade for free and that she would have to contact upper management and that she would call me back with the answer, I told her I that I would not hold my breath waiting for a response. At 3:40 this afternoon i was contacted by the same customer assist person, she said that she has heard back from her management and that the free upgrade has been authorized. She stated that my case number has been updated with that information so if the dealer has any issue with this that they can look up the case number and read the information. So, the car is booked in for this Friday, here's hoping there is no further issues.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

They CANNOT upgrade the satnav without the code. Do not waste your time, unless Jeep AU has given the code to your dealer, or you have the letter with the code.

Wow

Lucky this isn't a safety recall and is "just" to fix their faulty maps

Excellent result, its seems a shame that Jeep just don't learn from their mistakes.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I received my letter today, thanks to my neighbour. Jeep Aust had both my name as well as my address printed incorrectly.

Just how clumsy can these clowns get?

A copy of the letter is attached for information to those expecting such a letter.
As you can see, the letter indicates that you will need to book a service prior to 31st May, to be eligible for this "free gift" and it is for a new map. It does not address the software issue at all, contrary to the tribunal findings.

Maybe the map update includes the API rather than the API being resident in the Jeep software. Here's hoping.
