Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

No. As I stated there are 2 disks.
One is a 2014/15 map, although it is from the 2013 map database.
The other is a MYGig database upgrade/downgrade, depending on what version you currently have installed.

I checked the TSB's on wk2jeep site, and it shows the latest MYGig version as being 2.337 released on 5th March 2014. That is TSB 08-024-14

I really wish Jeep Australia could do just one thing right.

Mine only marginally pisses me off so I am tending to "let sleeping dogs lie"!

But the fix regarding the letter and the activation code is solely related to the map/database update.

So how did you have (before todays update) a more recent maps database than what my MY13 had!!!

If you are in a similar situation to me I suggest you call Customer support to clarify the issue.
As I expected, I travelled 94 klms and wasted nearly 3 hours of my time today to be told they are still waiting on the update disks for my model vehicle. Additionally they cannot perform the maps update without the letter and activation code.

So for those people that write to Mr Glenn Jones and receive a response from him to book your vehicle in and let him know which dealer it is, so he will ensure they are provided with the activation code - it is simply bullshit.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I have today written to Glenn Jones. Will be interesting to see if he reponds.
The questions I have asked him were...
why had the Application Database been backdated to a previous version, rather than what I believe to be the current version, of 2.337 which is TSB: 08-024-14 dated 5th March 2014?
At the very least, I would not have expected the existing database to have been overwritten back to a previous version.
Could you also confirm that the map installation A 1329 is in fact 2014/2015 version, as the A 1329 code appears to relate to 2013 year. Would I be correct in assuming Jeep Australia purchased that mapping last year, and will not be purchasing new maps until 2016 year?

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Car was bue for 40,000km service so rang dealer in Vic park to ensure they had the disc, assured they did so booked in for service and map update + radio update.
When I arrived to pick up vehicle advised that neither map or radio update were completed because they didnt have the disc's, big dummy spit, they had a consultation with service manager and guess what , they return with the discs the service manager has had for a week. Tried to do update but their account was not activated so it wouldnt let them.
As for the service had supplied Mobil 1 Formula ESP 5w 30 oil and Mopar filters to be used on the service, but they forgot, the same as they forgot to change the diff oils, back to O/Park next time Mr Hughes.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

If having the map upgrade, check that your current database is not more recent than 2.136. If it is, request they do not overwrite it with the disk supplied. I have confirmed with Jeep Australia, that the disk is in fact on old database, and should not have been used on the cars that have already a later version..

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I thought I would let everyone know that the update has fixed the problem.
I have been using it almost every trip to ensure that there is no issue and I am yet to fault the GPS. It has routed me the shortest route possible and has also been accurate. I have not see then "not verified" message at all, but then I have not been out of Sydney.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I also tested in on a Route which has always been an issue for me, and it was successful.
I now just need them to get their act together and update the MyGig sofware to at least what it was, or better still, to the current version

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

So if you have 2.184 does the mapping work or do you have to run the older version?

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

The mapping will work fine with any recent version of the software.
If you have 2.184 make sure you tell the dealer not to overwrite it with 2.136.
