Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

This morning I was back at the dealer. Waited the expected three hours and was then told the code was invalid. They suggest a new update will be out in June so they'll call be when they have it!
Phoned Customer Service again, was told that can't happen and I'm now waiting for a phone call to let me know I can have the fix.
I'm now very excited in anticipation of having a reliable GPS. NOT!!!
I realize someone has to be first to get their car fixed (missed out on that) and someone has to be last. The wooden spoon might still be mine.
By the way, a month ago I had version 2.184, then I got 2.136, now I have 2.140. Are any of these correct?

I think the service guys are a bunch of failed TAFE students.

Allypally said "I checked the TSB's on wk2jeep site, and it shows the latest MYGig version as being 2.337 released on 5th March 2014. That is TSB 08-024-14"

I have version 2.184, that seems to be ok, but there are a lot of fixes in 2.337 according to the TSB http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0802414.pdf

EDIT. After a more careful reading of the TSB, the version of the upgrade for our radios is 2.140, so you are probably ok there. Strange numbering system.

I will be after it at the next service

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

2.140 is the latest version for Aussie SatNav systems..(Non J-Nav.)
2.337 is for J-Nav radios.
Both are referred to in the TSB 08-024-14.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Took a while but after a couple of emails to Glenn Jones, who stated it was free, and a number of calls to the Jeep Customer Service mob in VIC, who insisted I would need to pay for the update unless I had it serviced - I finally had it installed a couple of week ago when my Service guys got the disks.

Thanks for your hard work bugendore and for the subsequent assistance and information you gave to me.

Re: Jeep Navigation System = "Fail"

Hi guys.
Have a loan grand cherokee whilst I wait for mine to be delivered. How do you get the sat nav to work (new 2014 Laredo Diesel)?
I cant for the life of me find the button that turns it on.
A friend test drove the car and when I got it the sat nav was on but he didnt know how he did it and once I turned the car off it went back to the std screen.

There is no Sat Nav on the Laredo.

100% it was on there. It is still giving directions through the speakers which is why I am trying to turn it off

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Heading in the right direction now. Rob at Customer Service has sorted out the issue. Good effort on his part.
Seems the dealer had ignored the TSB and were trying to use my code to activate the update instead of logging on to the Navteq site to get the real code. Both Rob and the dealer assure me that next visit will herald success.
By the way Fatboy, what suburb is your dealer in?

Starting to sound promising.

I use Newcastle Chrysler Jeep Dodge - at 6/8 Arnhem Close, Bennetts Green, phone 02 4974 4222.

Does your dealer realize he has to create an account with Navteq before he can login and get the new code.

This process took 3 hours once my skilled service team realised what they needed to do

good luck
