Re: Jeep service costs

Trucks have more oil capacity and generally do more miles per year than a car.
I would thinkt he avaerage for a truck would be 50k km+ per year which is double a car.
The car/truck makers have a problem balancing fleet costs and reliability when ti comes to service intervals. The 10k km ones we have for the Jeep would be the shortest in the industry and totally ridiculous, as it should be 20k km like the rest of the world has for our cars.

Totally agree. They put us on Schedule B because we all live in the bush, according to them, then they can charge us twice as much.

Had my service done today at Narellan. All perfectly acceptable. Good chat with the service manager, loan car was a limited GC with a hemi. Good to compare with my diesel - very smooth but didn't feel as grunty as the lazy diesel.

Service finished on time. All very efficient. Gave me a show bag with a tyre gauge, pen, key ring etc.

Very happy.

Re: Jeep service costs

The Ford dealer I used to go to in Parramatta gave you a stubby holder with their Silver Service and an umbrella and other stuff with their Gold service.
All I could think of was that I would prefer to pay less and not be given this useless crap.

Lollies?
Mind you, I did see a small bowl of breath freshener mints on the service counter, but just assumed they were having a go at me.

Re: Jeep service costs

I have yet to take delivery of my car, but I think I will be taking it to my own mechanic who has serviced all my new cars to date, and have not had a bad experience. Whenever there was a warranty item, my mechanic would report it on the service report, and I would choose whether to take it to the dealership for repair. I pay an hourly rate based on the recommended service time as stipulated on the service manaual, and I know everything on the list is attended to. In the case of the jeep, I may only need to supply the oil as it is very specific to the Jeep, or my mechanic is happy to buy on my behalf.

Depends on dealer
One dealer in Brisbane for the 10k service quoted me $600 other dealers were more around the $500

Re: Jeep service costs

I just had the 20,000km service at Scuderia Veloce Motors (SVM) Artarmon. Total cost: $385. That includes a wheel alignment for $85 so the cost of the service alone was $300. Sounds good doesn't it, but I'm not going back. When I booked I made it quite clear that I would supply the oil and oil filter, that the fogged DRLs need replacing under warranty and the radio software needs updating. When I arrived, they confirmed my request so off I went. When I picked up the Jeep, they hadn't done the radio because they haven't got the disc. They refused to order new reflectors claiming that it wasn't a safety or rego issue and it would just happen again. I pointed out that there was a new part # for it but they denied it. When I got home, I found my oil and oil filter still in the back of the car. So basically they did a quick and dirty service and ignored everything I asked for. I could go back and argue but life is too short for arguing. They have lost this customer and maybe a few others that read this. I'll give Suttons Waitara a go. They are closer anyway.

PS: No bloody show bag either.
