Re: Jeep service costs

I've just submitted an online booking request via the new Mopar Service Menu.

Says I should get an email and phone call to confirm.

I would have thought an automated email would come through virtually straight away - but nothing yet.....

Clicking around the Mopar site I noticed that the "Specials" page hasn't been updated since April 2012.

Probably, but I'm trying a different dealer now that the cost is the same everywhere.

Got an automated email back in an half an hour. Now waiting for a confirmation phone call "within 24 hours".

Edit : just got a call - all booked for Monday. Gold star - system works!

Re: Jeep service costs

I've been quoted to change the diff oil at 40k but the Mopar site says it isn't needed until 80k. The quote is for Penrite Gear 80W-90 for $49 (Mopar want about $300 at the 80k service)
First question - should it be changed at 40k?
Second question - Does the Penrite oil satisfy warranty?
Thanks.

Re: Jeep service costs

I believe the diff oil does need to be changed at 40k. Not sure on the penrite oil spec.

Well - what do you know!

70k service done without a hitch.

Good driveway service when dropped off, had the job sheet and the extra work details (DRL and brake light globes) that I noted on the Mopar internet booking. Didn't have to go into the office - dropped and gone in 10 minutes. Even though it is a multi franchise dealer (JCD, Nissan and mitsi) the guy who served me seemed to be a dedicated JCD fellow - had a Mopar logo shirt and gave me his JCD business card.

Got a txt advising car ready to pick up mid afternoon.

When I went to collect car it was siting right at the door of the service office. Guy who served me was the same bloke who did the driveway service in the morning - he recognised me and got the paperwork without being told rego or anything. Ran through the job sheet in detail. paid and gone again in less than 10 minutes. Book stamped and sitting on the passenger seat.

Cost was $388 as per the Mopar Menu.

It all seems so simple!

So BIG gold star to Lander at Prospect.

Is this a sign of good things to come?
