Re: Jeep service costs

Has anyone had their brakes done yet? If so, could you please let me know:

- whether it was front, back or both
- the cost

Also does anyone have a view on whether it's worthwhile going to brake specialist

Thanks

Re: Jeep service costs

Came across this PDF regarding servicing & warranty on Mopar website, it does not show any service interval for 30k or 18months for 3.0Ltr Diesel.
Have they changed it to 20K intervals or 12 months??????
It does say on the first Column " Intermediate every 6 months" but the other columns are 20k & 12 month apart. Am I misinterpreting something.....

Looks like they just updated the servicing schedules for OZ models...

The first column becomes the 10k 30k 50k 70k 90k etc service interval, so nothing has really changed.

Yes I believe you are misinterpreting.

The service schedules will remain the same with oil changes and oil filter to be done every 10,000km or 6 months. They are classifying the 10, 30, 50, 70 etc oil changes as 'intermediate' oil changes.

I wish it wasn't so but alas the service intervals are as before.

Re: Jeep service costs

The maintenance interval schedule issue has been around since the early days of the WK2. Basically Jeep has two schedules, schedule A and B. One is a normal 20,000km schedule, the other is a 10,000km schedules for harsh conditions. The Jeep powers that be in Australia decided that we should run with the 10,000km schedule. A kind person might say this was in recognition of the relatively harsh conditions in outback Australia. A cynic might say this was nothing more than a money grab. In any case, if you do all your driving on bitumen then you would be quite safe changing the oil every 20,000km. The time dependent intervals are simply a money grab. Remember that despite the protestations of the dealers, failure to meet scheduled maintenance is not grounds for loss of warranty. You might find more clarity here:

The following recently released TSB "Engine Oil Consumption Guideline" also makes interesting reading:

Re: Jeep service costs

40k service at Shents in Wyong NSW for around $700. They supplied filters and oil, I'm very happy. They also did my Uneek bullbar and lift kit at a good price.

Re: Jeep service costs

Does this mean we only need to get the axle fluids changed at the new service books 80,000 km instead of old 40,000 km. And this wont effect warranty
