That really is pathetic. Based on their reasoning, I guess a broken moulding inside the car would not be a warranty item due to it's not being a safety issue. These service monkeys really get carried away with themselves. The other point I would query, is that it perhaps is a safety issue, as those DRL sockets are obviously getting cooked, and how long until one of them melts the wiring and sets a car on fire?

That's another dealer who will never see my money.

Sounds good doesn't it, but I'm not going back. When I booked I made it quite clear that I would supply the oil and oil filter, that the fogged DRLs need replacing under warranty and the radio software needs updating. When I arrived, they confirmed my request so off I went. When I picked up the Jeep, they hadn't done the radio because they haven't got the disc. They refused to order new reflectors claiming that it wasn't a safety or rego issue and it would just happen again. I pointed out that there was a new part # for it but they denied it. When I got home, I found my oil and oil filter still in the back of the car. So basically they did a quick and dirty service and ignored everything I asked for. I could go back and argue but life is too short for arguing. They have lost this customer and maybe a few others that read this. I'll give Suttons Waitara a go. They are closer anyway. PS: No bloody show bag either.
BobT, I would be concerned that they have not changed your oil and filter, have you pulled the dipstick and checked the oil?, new oil should not be totally soot black even driving

Wow @ 40k then 50k service price. It'll be interesting to see my next service price at 48k (we have the 3.6L V6 Petrol)

We have done 42,000km in 16 months. With the above prices we would've paid $2919 in service costs already!

Our current service costs paid are $1k in total for the 12k,24k and 36k.
This includes tyre rotations every time, and at the 36k all filters and wheel alignment (due to a trip to Cape York). I must declare this is a leaseplan vehicle so we probably get a discount anyway.

Kev.

Hi Bob, your restraint is admirable....I would have flipped with such abhorrent treatment.....on every front, this "service outlet" should be exposed. Good on ya for mentioning them and warning the wider masses against using them....but on a lighter note, 20k?? By my calcs, your diesel should start to loosen up on or around October 2021 based on such low kms per annum!!!

Re: Jeep service costs

BobT, That is not good news, as this is where I have had my car serviced. They did my 40k km service for $400 as I supplied all the filters (I changed them myself) and the oil change. They also did all the updates, including the 4x4 update.
Sorry to hear about the bad result. I just hope they bring in the 20k km service intervals sooner, as the less I go to the dealer the better.

Yeah, SWMBO keeps booking me in for family functions and anything else she can think of. I might have to just hook up the camper and go solo.

Re: Jeep service costs

Does anyone know how to reset the oil change due message.

I have just done my own oil, filter and air filter for the 20k service.

Also anyone know where the best price for service in Perth Metro is obviously without oil, filter or air filter.

Thanks

Re: Jeep service costs

Thanks for the quick reply.

In fact the Australian diesel has a different sequence.
Turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Press the accelerator and hold for at least 30 seconds. Press and release the brake pedal 6 times. Turn the ignition off and then on again.
If still warning oil change due then repeat.

I found this via our old friend Google and it has worked.

Re: Jeep service costs

Suttons Waitara Service costs below.
I just got offered a pre pay 3 yrs log book service for $2,500.
So $416.66 per service.
The only problem is that it assumes I will be around here for another 3 years.

Re: Jeep service costs

Just got the 20k service at John Hughs. $270.00 after I changed my own oil, filter, and air filter. You can see how they pay for their grand buildings and free coffees!

So.... If you did all of those things, exactly what is it they did for $270. ?
