Re: Jeep service costs

According to that schedule, there is no 50k service at all. yet they continue to place a sticker on the windscreen indication the next service is 10k from the last.
FCA really need to get their act together.

It would seem Clive's inglorious departure has not helped much.

Good find! So I don't have to do my diffs just yet. I wonder if the new gearbox schedule is intended to apply to the 5-speeder as well?

You still have to do intermediate servicing, 6 months or 10,000km in between the ones listed. Which would be just oil and filter.

Re: Jeep service costs

Basically, what I think is that Jeep Australia have initially setup an overservicing schedule. i.e. every 10,000klms. They are now rolling that into a 15,000klm one.
Only problem is they have not contacted each owner explaining the changes, probably because they will have exposed themselves to originally over charging, nor have they updated their online documentation.

Re: Jeep service costs

Sorry but I have missed something here - what indication is there that servicing is moving to 15k intervals?

Re: Jeep service costs

Nope - still don't get it. Had a look at the post 1368 and the Mopar handbook from the link and it as far as I can see it still says 10,000k for service interval.

Re: Jeep service costs

According to Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Maintenance information and schedules which I trust way more than any Jeep manual produced in Australia, the oil change intervals are:
Service Interval A: 10,000mi (16,000km) 12 months
Service Interval B: 5,000mi (8,000km) 6 months

Service intervals are defined as follows:

Service Interval "A" (Light)

Service Interval "A" is for vehicles that are not operated under any of the conditions listed under Schedule "B." Most vehicles are operated under the conditions listed for Schedule "B". Use the schedule that best describes your driving conditions. Where time and mileage are listed, follow the interval that occurs first.

Service Interval "B" (Heavy)

Follow this schedule if you usually operate your vehicle under one or more of the following conditions:
•Day or night temperatures are below 0°C (32°F)
•Stop and go driving
•Excessive engine idling
•Driving in dusty conditions
•Short trips of less than 16.2 km (10 miles)
•More than 50% of your driving is at sustained high speeds during hot weather, above 32°C (90°F)
•Trailer towing
•Taxi, police, or delivery service (commercial service)
•Off-road or desert driving
•If equipped for and operated with E-85 (ethanol) fuel.

So it seems Fiat Chrysler Australia are muddling somewhere in between. My guess is that most Jeep owners in Oz do most of their driving in "A" and just occasionally stray into "B". Realistically, we probably do a lot less in "B" than we think we do or that we would like to do.
