Your dealer is feeding you garbage diggum. I'd be happy to pass on the email I have from Jeep Talk confirming that dealers should still be operating under the Mopar Menu if you would like to PM me.

Re: Jeep service costs

40k service today, done at Chadstone jeep instead of Bayford Hawthorn (now out of business), so was interested to see how they compared. Their face to face customer service was great. Got the loan car, rang me early to let me know there were no major issues. Asked them to rotate the tyres and determine if I needed an alignment. All good there. Super helpful and courtous. All up $954.55 (diesel model). Can't complain, about what is quoted on Snukes spreadsheet. On the basis of how I was treated today will go back to them. No TSB's were applied.

Of course, could be completely different animal when things go wrong! Time will tell there. Must say, I dropped them very early from the buyers list, rude, condescending and just weren't interested in the sale, hence why I bought off Bayford who were great to deal with. I am most disappointed they have stopped selling or servicing jeeps. Will be interested to see what Chadstone are like when I am looking to upgrade!! They did mention they understand there is a full overhaul of the Grand next year.

Tsbs are only applied if you complain or experienced a known problem. They wont ever apply tsbs unless thete is a reported possible fault.

Re: Jeep service costs

Recalls are the only thing that gets applied automatically, well should be.

I had a TSB applied without asking a few services back. Am sure it wasn't part of a recall. All I do know is my fuel consumption got worse after. Not happy Jan!

Not normal practice. They may have had reason because of a question you may have put to them.
You dont ask for a tsb you tell them of an issue and a switched on tech will figure if a there is a tsb fix for the possible complaint.

I agree, not normal. Most certainly didn't ask for it nor mention anything that was wrong. I just noted it on the service receipt at the end and they were "oh yeah, we applied that TSB". Hasn't happened since.

Re: Jeep service costs

RRT is applied at service even if you don't complain about the issue. The fix for the DPF limp mode was an example.

Re: Jeep service costs

I now have to go and pick up my my14 from the dealer that has done the 48k service (despite the fact she s approaching 3 yrs of ownership) and the total damage came out to 650$, however I was able to ask them to relay over the phone what they had done, and it looks like my spark plugs/tyre rotation/ transfer case fluids etc. wasn't done, when I challenged the guy over the phone I was told " the service guys felt you didn't need them", the labor costs from what I can understand are 250$, is this all kosher????

Re: Jeep service costs

Was quoted $600 for v6 petrol 48,000/24month service. Does this sound reasonable?

I called Jeep Australia after seeing the Mopar pricing application had magically disappeared from their site, and was told 'that's what we use so we can't tell you what the service should cost'. Uh-huh...

Quotes from 3rd parties like mobile mechanics are about $140 cheaper so I'm not sure whether to just use one of those.

Cheers, Simon
