No idea what relevance it has, but I'm an IT systems engineer. Maybe I read it wrong, but your post seemed to be taking a potshot at people who post here trying to understand what the right service and price is for their vehicle - the whole point of this thread.
It isn't for those in the trade to come blowing off steam about how much they spent on workshop equipment and how some of their customers want something for nothing..
May I apologise if I've misconstrued your comments 'sir' 😂

Cheers, Simon

Re: Jeep service costs

Mate i was telling it how it is from a person who works in the industry and fully understands the goings on of servicing. Just like i would expect your expertise in the IT industry. Jfyi i for a period of time had my jeep serviced from a dealer and exactly the same scenarios were performed where i was advised items in their opinion would last another service or two. Just like i run my workshop. Service items dont wear out equally for all. I rack up over 800km per week in my jeep 99% of that at 110+kph with 3 sets of traffic lights, so my point is things will wear at different rates to someone doing alot less weekly klms in stop start traffic. All this is taken into account from the person tooling on your car.

Re: Jeep service costs

Like I said before, I'm all for condition based maintenance but that needs data. A mechanic's opinion is not data. Also, if something doesn't get done because someone thinks it doesn't need doing, what does that say for fixed price servicing?

Re: Jeep service costs

Has anyone had the adjustment on the electric steering column vertical movement stop and start on a 2015 Grand Cherokee Diesel? The adjustment in and out is working perfectly. This started just before the 40,000 service and a few days later it was ok again. Have done another 12,000 km in 2 months and today it stopped again but in the most vertical position which makes seeing the gauges difficult. Off for a warranty claim unless it is a simle fix.

Re: Jeep service costs

Well, further to my extolling the virtues of Chadstone Jeep who did my 40k service last week. I asked to have the tyres rotated, upon pick up assured me they had been rotated and I didn't need an alignment, and on my invoice they state they were rotated. Got home and checked them the next day (it had been pissin rain the day I picked the car up) and behold, the tyres hadn't changed position! Being the sneaky bastard I am, I number the tyres as I drop them off. So now my question obviously is, what else haven't they done for which they have either charged me or claimed to have done. Needless to say I gave them a 5/10 on the FCA feedback form. Apparently anything less than a 9 or 10 is unacceptable to FCA. They got the 5 for being courteous and gave the car a really nice wash...for my $900 odd dollars.

Jeep service costs

Just booked a 10,000 service at Blacktown Jeep. $430 for diesel Overland, which is about $15 more than the list Snuke put together a little while ago from the old Mopar rates. I'm not inclined to argue the toss.

Re: Jeep service costs

I have been talking with sales about a replacement for my 2021 CRD that has 223,000km on it so far, as the 10,000 service interval gives me the .....
Seems they have a few short as in 10,000k services now then go out to 20,000 between services like the UK.
Thank God, US is 10,000mikes so that's 16,100 km to change oil so finally some sense here.
I'm awaiting latest costings for services to decide what to do...

Re: Jeep service costs

Had my 48k service done this week at Albion.
When I picked the car up afterwards was told that the rear shocks were leaking and had been replaced under warranty. My warranty expired 12 months ago. That was a pleasant surprise for a change...

Jeep service costs

I know this is nothing to do with Jeep, but to give some context regarding how far behind other manufacturers Jeep has become, the new LR Disco Sport now has 2 year , 34,000 servicing intervals. And a $1,200 service package for 5 years / 100,000 k's.

Read it and weep.

Re: Jeep service costs

Just had my GC serviced. Quizzed the service dude regarding the Mopar Service Menu that is no longer on the Mopar website. Asked for a copy of whatever document the dealer has that sets out service costs and he offered the attached document that he printed off the dealer system. The quoted prices are in line with the schedule provided by Snuke a little while ago and also the rates in the Mopar Menu before it was taken down - give or take a few bucks.

So to make the point again, if you are being changed anything other than pretty close to these rates by your local dealer, complain loudly.
