I have a copy of the new service schedule and pricing and it says 24k intervals! I said to the salesman 'so you're telling me this engine is more than twice as good as my MY14?'. I cut him off when he tried to spin BS. I'm filthy as I have an oil leak after 86,000km but a few months outside the 3 year warranty. I have 4 different opinions about where it's coming from.

Re: Jeep service costs

Thanks for the tips guys but what do you consider a short drive. Does a 3 minute drive down to railway station parking count as a short drive or no drive at all. Yes I know I should be walking that distance.

Re: Jeep service costs

I reckon if you only do that 3 min drive once per day (return) it's not much different to doing one 20 min return trip per day. It's more the number of cold starts you do...
I never did the services @ 6 months and have not had any issues with warranty claims.
Especially now that the same engine has a different schedule there is little chance that you could be denied warranty for using the new schedule - not that the dealers will admit to that.

If you go to the Jeep Australian site the service interval is 10,000Klm's go figure which one is correct.
It is now 12 months or 20,000km on the jeep website for MY2015, 2016 and 2017

For the diesel, annual service costs average $857 p.a. For the first 5 years. Minor services are $665 and major services are either $1095 (40k or 24 months) or $1195 (80k or 48 months).

Capped prices quoted are valid for 5 years from the date of vehicle registration or 100,000km (whichever comes first). Capped price does not apply retrospectively to services conducted before commencement of the There & Back Guarantee.

See http://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.c...68436c4cd5.pdf

While this is all positive, there is no indication of the service costs beyond 5 years

Live Life TB,

A short journey like that is a killer for any motor, gas or diesel. Given that, I would change the oil at least twice a year as you really are not getting it hot regularly enough to burn off any water and/or contaminants.

Also, do you keep it on a Battery Tender at home? If you don't, buy one and keep it on the BT when it is in the garage. This will definitely help battery life as you are not driving enough miles to charge it back up.

Both are very cheap insurance mate.....

Where does it say that servicing for a 2015 is now 12 months or 20,000k??? As far as I can see, the Mopar site still has 6 month 10,000k intervals.

Upon looking at the website again, you're right. I looked at the 2017 service schedule on the website which showed a 20000 km service interval. When I went to the year model and changed it to 2015 or 2016 it still showed 20000km service intervals. You have to refresh the whole webpage and select everything again in the drop down boxes to show the correct service interval for that particular year. Changing the model year alone doesn't change the rest of the data, unlike 99% of webpages that are correctly coded.
