Guy's, I know this information is dotted around other threads but I was looking to get an idea of reasonable or unreasonable service cost experience in one place. My CRD's up for a 20K service (oil service message just came up). I've been quoted around $500 at Albion Brisbane and just over $600 at Salters Moorooka. I know we can always do better by supplying our own oil, but as far as the above prices are concerned, anybody have similar quotes/costs? PS, My 10k service was $430 at Albion.

Had my complimentary 1000km check done last week...

Asked my dealer about the 1000km service and he said don't bother. I'd have been back a couple of weeks later for a walk around and tyre kick!

Nothing complementary about it , you have paid for it in the purchase price
Make no mistake about it

I understand that there is nothing they do at the 1000km checkup other than make sure all fluid levels are ok etc.

I had a few warranty issues that were getting fixed so got both that and the checkup done at the same time.

Bob, you will find several threads about towing and heat on here, including the Export section Towing thread.

So I had the car in for it's 12 month service on Friday. My deal is that they pick it up and return it. That was a failure. It had to be back by 2:30pm, they didn't pick it up until 11:15, then took 15 mins to leave the car park to head to dealership.
I have it recorded with the dash cams except when car was turned off. I wish I had turned the rear camera to face inside the car and watch him drive etc...and I should have set it to record even when ignition was off.

12:00 - Car arrived at dealership
12:15 - Goes into bay
13:23 - Bonnet is up and fluids levels are being checked, I gather after all changes (fluids/filter..)required.
13:45 - Out of work bay, being moved around inside workshop.
13:55 - being driven into car wash (I left a big note saying not to do this).
14:00 - back in workshop to reset service reminder (should now be on the way back to return car)
14:15 - finally reset service reminder after much bitching and insults to kill each other with blunt objects.
14:30 - finally leaves dealership.
15:15 - car arrives back.

Neither of the two recalls (P36 & P44) associated with my VIN or the two TSBs I requested were done. Glove box wont shut.
I called dealer today (11:45am) to confirm the only work done was standard service as they didn't leave me any paperwork. After I pointed out that the recalls and TSBs were not done he said he would call me back, this did not happen today.

I had my car in the Firday before last.
Gave them a list of things I needed done. I could not pickup my car, as I had broken my arm, so needed to arrange one of my staff to collect it.
I had asked all the recalls and details be put on the service invoice. When I checked the invoice, it only had the service listed and nothing else.

Apparently they forgot the other 8 items I asked to be done. Pity that they cannot do even basic requests. I have followed this up with a very poor survey result, although I know this will not make any difference.

I now have to take it back to get the work done. Dealers seem to think this is OK for us to bring cars back when they do not carry out requested work, as we live to serve them.

My car is booked back in to get missed work done in a months time. By then there will be four other pointless recalls to take action with.

Must be the norm with dealers. I had mine booked in for the 1000km free service and I asked them to install the rear assist camera. On collection I asked for the paperwork to see what was checked/serviced and they said they had no paperwork. Only that the rear camera was fitted.
I did leave the Blackvue running via the battery and it recorded the tech spending ages reading the instructions and asking his buddy to come over and look at the manual. It seemed to be installed okay but I've noticed some rattling on the inside of the tailgate. On looking, the panel is loose and not fitted properly and it's possible he's broken the clips...need to take it in for them to check.
I was puzzled as it was the 1000km service I booked it in for via email confirmation with adding the rear camera at the same time yet failed to do both jobs.

They just asked if I could bring it back in 2 weeks...I said forget it I'll take it elsewhere and forfeit the additional basic dealership 3yrs warranty.
This besides the dicks drilling extra holes into my tailgate ensures that I don't buy/upgrade through them in the future.

I run a service business and there is no reason other than lack of preparation when things are overlooked. Ill be the first to put my hand up and say I have forgotten to do something, only excuse is because I hadn't prepared for it.
I remember my dad telling me "failure to prepare is prepare to fail". In a service environment, if the customer is not completely satisfied, then you have failed. Simple!

Righto - if I can get my own parts then I think I'll just get it serviced from work.

Hopefully Jeep will uphold their warranty work if something goes wrong.

Cheers

From what I am told, as long as it is serviced by a licensed mechanic and the service record book is stamped to prove that the required intervals have been maintained, then there can be no dispute in warranty work if required.

No we know this works in theory but we also know that the dealers will find every bloody excuse in the world to get out of doing something especially when they cant charge like wounded bulls

Yesterday I had my 60K service at the dealership
I had already changed the cab filter and engine air filter myself with aftermarket filters.
The engine oil filter supplied by dealer is usually around $50. It has now had a part# change and a price increase to $80.91. These cartridge filters are available aftermarket for less than $20

So you ran dirty oil thru a clean filter, then changed your oil...... interesting.

Hello all. I have looked thru the last 30 odd pages with no luck, and search came up with 0! Just after a reference price point for 30k CRD service in Adelaide. Anyone overly happy with a particular service centre, any to avoid?

Thanks for any info.

#811 ·
I've been quoted $513.59 for the 30k service here in Melbourne for my CRD. Hope this helps. Not sure how accurate my quotes are as I haven't had an actual service yet. Rapidly approaching the 10k, less than a 1000k to go. Will know for sure how accurate my quotes are once I'm actually charged.

The dealers can keep phoning and sending me letters but I'll service the Jeep when it tells me to.

I think you will find that the terms re warranty is set by Jeep Australua, not by Jeep USA. Personally, I would not be doing anything that could possibly jepordise the warranty, knowing how expensive these things are to repair. Each to their own though.

Totally concur..
After two letters to Jeep AU they could still not provide me with a documented schedule for the 3.6L that specifies 6month intervals.
So if they don't have one, I'll do the next best thing and maintain my vehicle to a published one from the OEM..

I'd rather maintain to a current published schedule from the OEM, than an out dated 2007 version book that does not list my vehicle.

The only reason to pull the KM or Date base servicing early is if the Oil life monitor advises of a service due.. Then happy to do it.
Seems silly to me to change the oil at 50% life..

The question is, what components are fitted to these vehicles at JNAP for export that require 6 monthly inspection.. If there are happy to do it..

Well I'm due for the 10k service, ringing around for prices, I've found that most service centers are using castrol edge 5w30 for the diesels. Best price I've found so far is Mansfield at $451 and you can use a voucher:
http://www.mtgravattjeep.com.au/doc...ad02badf1/cricks-mt-gravatt-service-flyer.pdf

Not sure how much more that gives you off.

But Albion while more expensive said they would be applying some software updates, might be worth taking there to get that done.... they said about $500.

edit: oh and with diesel turbos, I'd definitely be changing the oil every 6months/10,000kms. Got to look after those turbos.

They wont/can't be doing anything that any other jeep dealer can't/should be doing.

Wasn't there some fairly negative feedback re Albion??

Something that has me a bit confused on servicing is the first service. It says 10,000kms or 6 months. But 6 months from when? After I had the 1000km check up they put a date 6 months from that date on the windscreen sticker. I would have thought it would have been 6 months from the delivery date. But maybe it is supposed to be 6 months from build date, if time elapsed is a problem for cars......
