The joy blessing was it was all warranty related work so I didn't have to pay for this out standing work!

After the saga with my rock rails I think they were given strict instructions to do everything properly. It all looks ok (fingers crossed) and they even charged me $3 less than my quoted price including a replacement air filter (which seems to have been charged against a warranty item). I did find it interesting though that the $372 included $17.54 for a "Bolt Oil Drain" which I presume means they dropped the sump plug and couldnt be bothered straining the oil for it...

Interesting

I just got a letter from my original purchasing dealer
The one that lied and gave such bad service on the original hand over and first 1000k service
The one that i complained to Mr jeep in US of A and the one that i have never gone back to
I think they have now changed ownership, but not totally sure as i was not interested in every dealing with them again.

So i got a letter from them saying that the next service they will give me free Oil and Air filter replacement.
Thats about $120.00 off the bill
I wonder how they can do that
Oh thats right the rip off parts prices

My issue is i could not be guaranteed that they did in fact supply those those parts. I have no trust in them.

I truly hope they've improved their game, but I just don't believe it.
The free air filter will be because they damaged it, so they have done a dodgy and claimed it on warranty.
The bolt oil drain will just be the sump plug washer, charged out as the wrong part (their spare parts Dep ain't the best either).
I hope they have got every thing right (it was only a service after all), I've got my fingers crossed for you

Re: Jeep service costs

Not sure if this has been mentioned.....on the EVIC display under OIL LIFE, it is showing 75%, and I have just done 5000km. If this was synced to the service intervals, then it should be at 50%. Has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Jeep service costs

I have reset my oil change indicator twice now, as they seem unable to do it when I get it serviced. It is very likely that your oil change has not been reset and the car is 75% because you most likely have done 15,000km.
The correct oil change intervals should be 20k km, but we get the over serviced Jeep AU schedule of 10k km.

I'm coming up to 6 months with 7k on the odometer. Are you guys running it out to 10k and not worrying about the time interval? Does that still fit in with the warranty?

Another quick question, I'm off to the states soon, are the price differentials that different? Should I buy the parts there and what would I need for the first service?

Cheers.

Re: Jeep service costs

Service schedule states whichever comes first, time or distance, so in your case time.
Ignoring it means a big hole in your warranty coverage.

Prices are cheaper in the US.

Re: Jeep service costs

Throwing a hypothetical question out there.
If a owner waited until the "service warning" light to display on their dash, then I would argue that they should be covered under warranty if they only serviced when that light was lit.

Don't encourage them - Jeep Aus will arrange to have them light up every 6 months

Agreed! I'd like to see Chrysler try to fight that one in court.
