The service is good for u then. Hopefully Jeep will launch 7 seater grand cherokee in a few years. I would love to have one.

I would like to see the persons name listed on the account when you get your Jeep serviced

I say the persons name the people who laid their hands on your car at the dealers
Also they should list their qualifications as i suspect many are not qualified mechanics
I would like know who the person is that does the work and if they stuffup then i could hold them responsible.

Fully agree... but it aint gonna happen. I think it was said somewhere before that it is highly unlikely that anyone servicing a car at a dealership has any mechanical qualifications at all.

Ummm.... No.
Do you think you could be held responsible, to the public, for work you undertake for the company you are employed by?
Assuming of course you are employed by some company. The company is the entity responsible.
I do agree, however, that it would be re-assuring if a dealership would state the name of the person who conducted the service. It would demonstrate they are proud of their workmanship.
eg: It would be interesting to receive a service itemised bill, with reference that showed 3 apprentices, and 1 general workhand worked on your car.

Re: Jeep service costs

My quote yesterday for the 30,000 was $410 (same as the 20,000) and the forewarned price for the 'biggie' 40,000 was $850 I think or thereabouts. (I heard the $800 bit but didn't quite catch the ten's figure so I'm thinking halfway)

Less than $900 anyway.

Re: Jeep service costs

I found out about service costs the hard way. The vehicle was purchased from Melbourne City Jeep and I was happy with the new car delivery and previous updates.

Booked for 1st service 10k @ $544.50.

Thought I'd called Northern Motor Group the day before to double check costs $419.15 initial quote, revised to $472.65 once they had service code of my exact car.

Thought I'd call City Jeep before I dropped it off to justify discrepancy, explained that they provide software updates... heheheh...

Dropped the car off, explained my dissatisfaction with costs and told them it won't be coming back, dropped to $495 when I picked it up. Wasn't going try the free filter at this point.

Breakdown looks like;
Labour $210 (oil+filter+rotate tyres+look around)
Filter $59
Washer additive $2
Washer Sealing $4.50
Valv SynPower 5W30 $153.30
Workshop Supplies $12.50
Oil disposal $8

It appears City Jeep have fixed price for 3ltr Diesel that looks like this;
12k = 495 ex
24k = 658 ex
36k = 618 ex
48k = 1055ex
60k = 1158 ex
72k = 623 ex

So City Jeep appear to have a fixed price to cover all possible specs and a bit more....

I've only heard good things about Northern Motor Group and found that all of their staff can explain all current issues, bulletins, DPF, etc, so it will be going there in the future.

Re: Jeep service costs

City Jeep look like a pack of muppets, as the service interval for the CRD is !0,000km.
At least other members on here will know where not to go for a service in Melbourne.
