Sure enough a few km down the road it updated to reading all 2.8bar.
I inflated my 18s to 38psi on Sunday morning, the EVIC went blank and showed no pressure. After about 10mins, one changed to 2.6 BAR, it then took a further 40-50 mins for another to finally display 2.6. The other two didn’t show until I got back after being in the shops for a couple of hours. Then the first one that showed 2.6 dropped to 2.5 while the others all showed 2.6. No idea what they say now, nor do I care.

Re: Jeep service costs

Dunno Snukerator... mine follow adjustments immediately, though I will qualify that with the fact I have always changed pressure with the car running because I'm using a compressor powered by the car.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Jeep service costs

This adds up. The car was running when I started but the misses was in the car and getting pissy because I got out with the key in my pocket, so it started to beep and carry on, even once key was back inside, I did the other passenger tyre and turned it off. It was the driver’s side that didn’t show until after shopping.

Re: Jeep service costs

Sorry Allypally... maybe around you extremely excitable folk I should be very specific. So it's actually a "compressor in a bag powered by the car's electrical system via a good old bit of cable connected with alligator clips to the jumpstart posts".

However I've got to say, even if there was room up front I probably wouldn't install a compressor there. It's way too hot, plus I find more than occasionally I need to drag my pump down the track to help some sad fark who bought one that wouldn't blow up a balloon. Usually, because they're blocking the track and I have to.

Apologies again for fuelling your hopes for an underbonnet compressor.

Cheers,
Steve

There you go Ally, just what you wanted: http://www.murchisonproducts.com.au/...compressor-kit . From what I can make out, the kit uses the ARB CKMA12 on-board air compressor. 75.1 lpm, not great but a little better than my TJM "in the bag" compressor.

Re: Jeep service costs

Got a letter in the mail yesterday from the dealer I had my 10K service done at. I have since tried 2 other dealers for the 20K and 30K, with the dealer used at the 30K owned by the dealer that did the 10K, but I digress.

The letter was an offer to prepay my 40K and 50K services for a total of $1900. This is a saving (according to the letter) of $349. The offer also includes a free loan car (saving a further $66), interior clean and piece of mind as factory trained technicians & genuine parts are guaranteed.

Going back through this thread revealed 40K service prices ranging from lowest of $830 up to $1430 and the 50K one was lowest of $974 up to $1300.

I am still thinking though of sourcing all my own parts and oils and filters and taking it to my trusted local mechanic.
Thoughts?

Matty,
Sounded good until the phrase "and piece of mind as factory trained technicians & genuine parts are guaranteed"

I would love to know the number of technicians who have visited the Jeep factory. Or for that matter, actually know where that factory is.

Re: Jeep service costs

I use my own mechanic. They're always accessible, don't need to wait more than a day to book in a service, and if I have a concern, they'll look at it on the spot - instead of having to make a booking in 2 weeks time. This is my 'peace of mind'!.

Re: Jeep service costs

Got my 50K service coming up in a couple of days. I'm squared away for oil and oil filters, but does anyone know where I can pick up the Automatic Transmission Kit and Mopar ATF+4 required? Even the dealer is having trouble getting the Mopar ATF+4. I can't seem to find the Automatic Transmission Kit online anywhere.

Cheers

Re: Jeep service costs

Has anyone done a prepaid service arrangement with dealer? Is $2500 ok for 3 years of servicing?
