Re: Jeep service costs

When I ordered my car the dealer threw in a service offer. I wasn't paying that much attention at the time but when I collected the car they reinforced that I had capped price servicing for all scheduled services for 3 years at $250

Will be interesting to see if that really means my bill will be no more than $250 in 6 months time

Nope. I took them up on that as it was only a few $$$ and if I need it once in 6 years it pays for itself.

First 3 years = $250 capped servicing.

Platinum pack is years 4-6. I get 6 years roadside assistance, extended warranty including unlimited claims to a max value of $2000. It's a bit like insurance where the dealer will fix the car and I can claim against the extended policy. That part is limited to a max of $2k per claim but better than forking it out of my own pocket.

Once off upfront cost was only $ 595 so seemed worth it considering I've spent more on fuel in the last 2 weeks

Nope. Hemi but the fuel comment was tongue in cheek because... pretend race car. Think it was about $400 on fuel in the last 2 weeks

Re: Jeep service costs

I'm glad that 3rd picture was there. When I saw 147.66 litres, I was wondering what the hell was going on.
90 litres in our CRD took 5 weeks - 1,110km to go through.

Enforcer, Bob. I did have similar concerns before I agreed to paying the $2,500 up front.
I said it made certain assumptions, including me still being in Sydney in 3 years.
After looking at the best prices being offered around Sydney, always being Narallen, and then looking at what happened with fix prices coming in on other brands, it still made sense.
The closer for me was the valet service. We won't need a loan car as they will be picking it up and dropping it off, Boxhead got the same deal with his today.
They (Waitara) won't be going under in 3 years, and their service has had neither positive or negative reviews from anyone.

Hell, even if I move back to Melbourne, technically they have to pick it up, service it and return from there too. Not sure I would appreciate having 2,000km added to my car every time it needs a service though.

.....it must be normal for those Hemi V8s. He needed that much fuel just to drive to work and back

When I was speaking to the service fellow at Blacktown he told me that Jeep were going to bring in fixed price servicing and as they were new they had aligned their prices with what they thought the JA fixed price would be (Blacktown $420 for 50K, Narellan $750). When I mentioned the posibility of JA introducing fixed pricing Natasha said that she was aware of it but didnt think it would happen anytime soon.

But it is all hogwash if they cannot get the auto transmission fluid. I'm waiting for Blacktown to confirm when they could have the required parts for my 50K service before I book with them. Service manager is also trying to find out if my car is effected by brake recall. Also asked about the wheel alignment TSB that allypally found - Blacktown cannot do wheel alignments so would have to send the car to Parramatta.

Dropped mine in for the 50k service at Narellan today. Natasha told me they have just got the ATF in yesterday.

How much are you paying? Castle hill $560, Blacktown $420 and Narellan $750 is what I've been quoted.
