Have a look at your service book, itís pretty clearly marked.
This is for all cars, distance and time intervals. Whichever comes first is when itís to be done.
The time thing becomes vitally important for low km drivers and time related perishable items, especially those that can cause massive damage. If you have a car that has a timing belt, never ever dream of missing it for time, even if itís not even close for distance. Rubber will break down over time, and become harder and brittle leading to breakages. For a timing belt failure, that is results in many thousands of dollarsí worth of damage.
In my Pajero, the timing belt was a real pain to get to, and mechanics hated having to do it, even though they could charge a solid amount for it. The last service I got on it before I sold it, I asked for it to be done even though I knew it was slightly early, it wasnít a risk I cared to take. I picked it up and it wasnít done, with a note saying it could be done next service. I was okay with it as it had their details saying that, so they became partially liable for any failure, and I was selling very soon when the GC arrived. I made sure the new owners were fully informed of this and the possible consequences of not getting it done.
I'm just want it for the "shorter headlamps".
