Jeep service costs

Jasman - Nope.

Rob I'm assuming Jasman is referring to the spreadsheet link I posted that has a breakdown of service costs from a ruralish QLD dealer. I hope so.

Re: Jeep service costs

Yeah guys, was referring to the spread sheet. I'm in regional QLD and was wondering if it's my local.

Agreed. One needs to keep in mind that we are not Chrysler's customers. We are simply the end users of their product. Chrysler's customers are the dealers. In this regard they are no different to any manufacturer that works though a dealership network. Chrysler listens closely to what the dealers want. The dealers want what they think they can sell the most of with the largest margins. Once the dealer has sold us the car, his only concern is to not piss us off too much. He knows that when we next go looking for a car, it will be a whole new ball game anyway.

Re: Jeep service costs

A friend and I are traveling together both in MY14 diesel Jeeps.
We both put them into the Jeep dealer in Port Augusta for servicing and my friends Grand needed a wheel alignment as well.
When we went to pick the Jeeps up my mate was informed that they were unable to do the alignment as none of the tyre dealers in town had the equipment to fit the 18 inch honeycomb alloys that our Jeeps come with. This makes you wonder if the big city dealers have the same problems. Has anybody with a MY14 fitted with these wheels come across this?
Have to say the Dealer was very good giving us comprehensive reports on our vehicles and doing any required upgrades to the computer system.
Prices for the services were my Jeeps 10,000k $ 370 and the mates jeep 20,000k $470.
Cheers
Peter

Re: Jeep service costs

When quoted $1500 for a 50,000km service for my CRD from selling dealer, I decided "that's it" after shelling out $1200 for 40,000k service. Based on what I have read in this thread I decided to go with Macarthur Jeep in Narellan (live in Sydney) with quote of $750 incl loaner free. This includes the transmission oil change.

Done today (including brake booster recall) and very happy with job so half my original quote. Thought they seemed both knowledgable and professional.

Next service .... a "normal" one was quoted at $350 vs the $490 it would be at my original dealer so I will be going back despite the slight extra travel time.
Hope this feedback is useful for others grappling with the crazy "book" costs for service.

I am heading to Narellan in 2 weeks for my 10k service as even after 5 hour drive round trip from Canberra still works out better than service prices in Canberra.. Sick to death of rip off prices for everything in Canberra so doing it on principle as well.. Getting free loaner as well.. Also after couple calls to them happy with what they offering.. Will let you know how the service and their professionalism goes, but based on other feedback on here am pretty hopeful all be good

Re: Jeep service costs

I'll be taking mine there for the first service after the 1k inspection which I was told needed to be done at the purchasing dealer.

Any idea as to what they give you as a loaner?
