Re: Jeep service costs

Sorry to hear but so glad they arent all this way inclined. I cant speak highly enough of my local jeep service centre. And since I also run a workshop I do understand how things sometimes get overlooked.

I run a service business and there is no reason other than lack of preparation when things are overlooked. Ill be the first to put my hand up and say I have forgotten to do something, only excuse is because I hadn't prepared for it.
I remember my dad telling me "failure to prepare is prepare to fail". In a service environment, if the customer is not completely satisfied, then you have failed. Simple!

In my case, I 'm not actually concerned about what they overlooked, I am just stupefied that they would overlook checking for recalls. As this car has been subject to 1,485 recalls in the last year, it is not something that any workshop should forget to check.
I told them this today, I'm not concerned about the two confirmed recalls for my car, I am super concerned that they couldn't be bothered to do this very basic and potentially safety related check.

So couldn't be bothered with what most would call a mandatory safety check, but then washed the car after the customer specifically requested not to be done??

Really shows their priorities

Hey Jason

I was just commenting on Snukes latest service experience.
And I believe Snuke is over Sydney way, so unfortunately it is not only our W.A dealers that offer the "great" customer service.

Think I will stick to the private shops and only go back to the dealer for the warranty/needed updates

Re: Jeep service costs

Righto - if I can get my own parts then I think I'll just get it serviced from work.

Hopefully Jeep will uphold their warranty work if something goes wrong.

Cheers

Jason

From what I am told, as long as it is serviced by a licensed mechanic and the service record book is stamped to prove that the required intervals have been maintained, then there can be no dispute in warranty work if required.

No we know this works in theory but we also know that the dealers will find every bloody excuse in the world to get out of doing something especially when they cant charge like wounded bulls

Re: Jeep service costs

Yesterday I had my 60K service at the dealership
I had already changed the cab filter and engine air filter myself with aftermarket filters.
The engine oil filter supplied by dealer is usually around $50. It has now had a part# change and a price increase to $80.91. These cartridge filters are available aftermarket for less than $20

So you ran dirty oil thru a clean filter, then changed your oil...... interesting.
