Use this spreadsheet as a guide, it is from a QLD dealer and lists all versions via the tabs at the bottom

2011-2014 WK Grand Cherokee Service Schedule

And this for a high price guide in Sydney (Waitara)

Re: Jeep service costs

Well just had 50k service done by my local dealer on my 2012 diesel for a cost of $490 which was $900 less than three other quotes from other Jeep dealers in the Perth metro area. When I queried the price difference they told me that Jeep released a bulletin saying that the transmission oil does not need replacing on this service, but to replace only if the system is leaking or the oil is contaminated. So I really wonder if the other dealers actually replace the oil if there is nothing wrong with it or leave it and still charge???How can one service dealer receive a service bulletin and not the others

Re: Jeep service costs

I was told by a dealer about 4 weeks ago that the auto service was changed to 192,000 km or 96 months and the transfer case oil change to
80,000km. This saves us heaps of money. Also the oil service light comes on just after 21,000km even with a fair bit of caravan towing.
regards Russell.

Re: Jeep service costs

Yup that's what the man said 192,000km. Said he just got a new service
sheet from jeep. He was/is the service manager.

So it is effectively maintenance free now?

It makes sense. My Commodore had a maintenance free box. There was no way to change the oil even if one wanted to. I guess Chrysler is attempting to keep up with the times. Modern engineering is so good now that often failures are more likely due to poor maintenance than lack of maintenance. Google "maintenance induced failures" if you want to know more.

Re: Jeep service costs

In regard to servicing of autos, you need to temper the recommendations from the manufacturer with how long you intend to keep the vehicle. Ie, when they say "maintenance free", or "sealed for life", what they really mean is "good till after the warranty has expired". For the latest ZF trannies, oil is probably good for 150k max, or 100k if you are towing. Google and research the trannie manufactures, they often recommend something different than the car manufacturers, who are more interested in reducing life of vehicle costs on paper, rather extending the serviceable life of a component.

My 2c only.

Re: Jeep service costs

After driving 4-5 hours in campbeltown area (hot day) my AC condenser started leaking and the AC stopped working. My jeep done 45 k and 4 months remaining in warranty. I rang few dealers in Sydney, all had 2 weeks wait time for a booking. I rang Chullora jeep and it was 3 days wait for a booking. I took the jeep to Chullora last Friday, they diagnosed it, ordered parts and my jeep was fixed the following Monday. I found 3 others jeep owners who experience the same problem around the 40k mark. Overall very happy with the result, I was thinking driving around no AC for months but it all worked out.
