This is an excellent guide but the costs shouldn't be regarded as in any way official Jeep costs. The costs are what Port City Autos chooses to charge. Their labour costs and pricing strategy are their own. The only common factor is the cost to the dealer of Jeep parts. Also, these prices may well be cost or minimum chargeable prices with markups allowed to be added to suit circumstances (what the punter will pay).

I was quoted $1200 for the 50000km service on my diesel by my dealer.
I asked him why so expensive, and was told it is because of the Auto and transfer case oil changes.
Had a local mechanic do the service, and went to Jeep to get the transmission and transfer case oil, only to be told that the auto does not need oil changes as it is now maintenance free. He did offer to sell me the oil if I still wanted it, at $90 per litre.
A bit annoyed that Jeep probably would have charged me anyway for an auto service. Bloody ripoffs and getting worse.

Re: Jeep service costs

If you go to Snukes post #935 in this thread you and see for yourself what is addressed as part of the 50K service. In terms of parts its only engine oil/filter and the labour for that.

Agree that are preying on the uneducated.

Jeep service costs

Got Os Park Jeep down from $399 (when I called them last week) to $299 for my v6 petrol 6month service. They cold-called me yesterday advising the service was due and it was now $420, then quickly dropped the price when I mentioned I would go elsewhere to get it done cheaper. It's little more than an oil change ffs..

$420? What are they smokin'?

Cheers, Simon

I'd be happy with 100k though. When my 50k service was done at the dealer they didn't do the transmission.
I did the diffs myself at 40k and both sets of oil were very dark, so perhaps there is some value in changing them.

I know this quote is a bit dated but have others confirmed that the "Transaxle fluid and Filter" isnt required at 50K?

I would be happier if the official warranty and service book had been updated to reflect this..

My point exactly these are the discrepancies I was talking about, mine says a spark plug change at 48. They now tell me there fine until 96k no need for
