Re: Jeep service costs

I heard on good authority the CRD service schedule is under review because of the amount of generic information not applicable to the new 3.0. Not necessarily changing frequency, but more "check and replace if required" than "replace".

Re: Jeep service costs

Great,
I just bought a new air filter and cabin filter in anticipation of my preservice service this weeknd. I figure I am better paying $20 for an airfilter than the $70+ Jeep want.

My cabin filter was replaced last week....your spot on with the $70 charge for a $20 part. I'm hoping that the review is complete before my 40k that might save me a few hundred on drive-train oils. I'd prefer to differ this cost for a year or so if possible.

Re: Jeep service costs

My car has just had its 30,000km service. SVM Artarmon did a great job.

I had done the oil & filter, cabin filter and air filter changed on the weekend. I was shocked how dirty the cabin filter was. Happy with the invoice for $290 for the service and $40 for the loan car.

So for $290, what did they do? Rotate the wheels and inspect the brakes possibly check for TSBs?

Yeah, there were 5 TSB's that needed to be done. They also rotated the tyres and checked the brakes and the usual checks.
I doubt that more than an hour was spent, but then this is what I expect.
I would rather give my money to a place that listens to my concerns and does a good job. I have checked to make sure all the items were done, so I cannot complain as it was done correctly.
I also have the sand fix if I ever go on the beach.

I go to Artarmon as well and like them, well that is, I think they are the best of a motley bunch. I went in to get the sand and hands-free TSBs done. They put it down to warranty claims and didn't charge me anything. BTW the hand-free one didn't solve my problem. I'll try again next time.

Was a Tynan customer with my MY12, thought of switching to Suttons at Rosebery but I was having specific problems with the vehicle (defects) being dealt with by Tynan. The service guy I was dealing with was excellent and I remained with them for six months but never got a chance to have a full service done.

With my MY13 ...the first free service was at Kirrawee but I found the previous service guy had moved on to looking after other branded vehicles. When I enquired about the updates with the Sat Nav issues the new guy directed me to the NAVTECH site to update maps. Considering I've been raising this Sat Nav issue to them for a year...I wasn't impressed with his lack of knowledge on this.

I'm now due for the 6 month service and will be using Narellan due to the massive price difference and free courtesy vehicle.
