My brother is onto his 2nd Disco. I'm aware they are not perfect. We swap war stories. His 1st one had electric seats with a mind of their own, which was never fixed by the dealer till the day he got rid of it. Drove him bonkers. He has now done about 15,000k on his new one and it seems to be a lot better than the last one.

Agree - if it is really is just going to be fitted with the Ranger engine, that is going to be a big step down from the GC.

I once waited 12 weeks for delivery of a Ford Futura company car. It had to be towed out of my driveway twice in the first couple of weeks and spent the first 2 months spread all over the dealers workshop in a million pieces as they tried to find a fault in the wiring loom - pretty much the whole interior was stripped out. It is the only Ford I have ever owned, so I'm no particular fan of the blue oval.

Yep - I've heard that too but it does not seem to be anywhere on the horizon at the moment. Seems there has been a lot of resistance to the concept design - too close to a RR Sport and not having the same load space that the Disco is famous for. So I understand it is still a fair time off - back to the drawing board.

Agree again. Going through the Disco spec today - where are the heated seats, folding mirrors etc etc???

But the Disco has load capacity going for it. We have struggled a little as a family with the load size of the GC, which is tiny in the back compared to the Disco (and my old Challenger).

Anyway - no more from me about other cars on a Jeep forum.
Maybe you should consider a Silverado?

Skip the Silverado, you need a Canyonero.

Funny.

On the way back from our xmas holiday up the coast I was on the Newcastle freeway towing my boat, loaded up, giving the speedo a nudge, when I was passed by a Silverado, Ram or sum such towing what seemed like a sixty three and a half foot caravan - monster - not a word of a lie. Overtook me and disappeared into the distance.

And for a fleeting moment.....gee.....I'd like one of those.....all those Americans carn't be wrong can they????

Saw a bumper sticker on one of those huge vans when I was in the states a few years back. It read:
"He who dies with the most toys wins"

Re: Jeep service costs

I'm looking to replace diff oil soon. After reading heaps I've like others decided upon Redline 75W90. Can I confirm that its this product:

Mobil Oil, Redline Oil, Shell Oil, Royal Purple Oil, Pennzoil Oil,Dust-Off, Plasti Dip!

Not the NS version.

Is it a generic code? If so, can you PM me?

I've got some things to buy still but didn't get any emails etc.
