I'm not so sure about capped price servicing. I have images of the oompa loompas flat out till the money runs out then drop tools and hand the car back. Perhaps I'm a cynic, dealers wouldn't do that would they?

Enviro greencare $3.00

Is this normal for Sydney?

I would jump up and down $91.71 for an oil filter is just robbery without a face mask demand it at trade price
Even then its robbery.
After market oil filters are $25.00 and i suspect made in the same china factory
Personally would not allow dealer to use Castrol Edge Pro oil in my diesel as it does not comply with the approved oil.

It's the "oil drain plug washer" that should be replaced at every oil change, not the plug itself. The washer would cost just a few cents but the labour cost of going to the store, having a chat and getting one probably costs $20.

Re: Jeep service costs

Just had the 40k service done at Mcarthur (Narellan)
Breakdown was
Parts: $314
Labour: $260
POL: $75
Misc: $13
Tax: $66
TOTAL $730
I supplied my own oil.
Parts consisted of:
Engine Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Gear Oil, Washer, Screen Wash.
Oddly, they said there were no computer patches/recalls, which I was sure I received a letter several months back for the O'head light wiring.
Reception lady appeared quite pleasant, and a loan car was made available.

At my last service i noticed the sump plug was also changed at a hefty price, i questioned it and was told needs to be replaced as the washer gets squashed and can leak if not replaced. Wasn't satisfied with their explanation, told them that i had done all my services on my previous cars and have never changed the sump plug or washer and have never had any oil leaks from that area, ever. So i asked them to fetch my original replaced sump plug and give it to me. About 15mins later i receive it and noticed the washer was basically still brand new, i let them know about it too!

Re: Jeep service costs

Well I carnt complain about my last 40K service as it didnt cost me a cent
Jeep went in for another rear transmission seal replacement because of oil leaking out of transmission, not that badly as no oil drips on the ground. But I could not get a roadworthy with this condition as I was selling the Jeep. So the dealer replaced the seal under warranty but also carried out the 40K service as well. When I went too pick it up the service adviser found that they had carried out the service by mistake, so I guess its the new owners gain.
P.S. I have ordered a 2015 SRT from the same dealer, which is sitting in their yard awaiting the Goliath wheels for the past 2 weeks.
one wonders

Good for you, letting them know about it. I go along with the squashed washer thing but not the whole plug. I changed the washer when I did my service. I got it as part of a maintenance kit I got from Just For Jeeps but I'm sure one could get a hand full from any parts supplier for not much.

It sounds like this is the new latest rip off by the dealers
We all need to stand up to them

Re: Jeep service costs

It seems the Artarmon Service Centre is now called the Badyear Goodyear Auto Care Artarmon. However it's still in the Sutton's stable of companies as is Scuderia Veloce Motors. Brands that Suttons handles are Subaru, Toyota, Misubishi, Hyundai, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Holden, HSV, Nissan, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Izuzu, Infinity and now it seems Goodyear. No doubt I've missed a few. It's hard to get company details with Suttons still being a private company.

Couldn't agree more!
I bought three oil filters, and an air filter, (Wesfill) for $118 delivered to the door.
Quality is excellent- and (bonus) the air filter has a decent moulded rubberised surround unlike the Faulty Jeep ones which split virtually immediately.

Robbery it is!

Cheers

Unhappy Re: Jeep service costs

Just got a quote for my 36000km service (5.7L petrol) and was astounded to be told $1061 (my previous service at same dealer was $460)!!! So, I rang another dealer and was quoted $733 for the same service.
I called back the original dealer and told them of the better price and asked why. They claimed that it was a big service and all diff oils, etc had to be changed every 36000klm. However according to Snuke's service schedule spreadsheet these fluids are done at 48000km not 36000km.
Makes me wonder if different dealers are using different schedules, and one does not always get services done at the same dealer, then stuff is going to get missed?!
Shame that some drama always happens at service time
