But wait for it, they said my wiper blades need changing soon.. Ok I thought, how much? $340!! I said what?? those rubber bits costs $340!! lol good joke.

Even that service cost is a rip off...
I evaluate everything by putting it in a currency we all understand. Holy crap Batman - those wiper blades cost the same as 8 cartons of beer

If the mechanic was offered a carton of beer per blade, I recon he would have done it and not told the boss and you'd be miles ahead. I've often found a carton of beer to a tradie will make him do almost anything.

I think they actual quoted me the whole assembly, even though I said, Is that only the wiper blades? yep was the answer.
Another service centre said no way that is not right, we sell them for $20 each. They must of quoted you the whole assembly....

Re: Jeep service costs

Re: Jeep service costs

GC is up for the 12m/20K service. I have only done 13K. Is it required to get the service done right on 12 months or can I wait couple of months and get few more K's. Will be calling few dealers to get the quote. Has anyone done this service recently?? how much did it cost?? Appreciate your replies.

Cheers...

You can try to push it out a month or two, but the risk is that if you have a warranty claim in the future Jeep may use this as grounds for not honouring the claim. I will generally just do it in the same month, not necessarily to the exact date.

Technically it's whatever comes first. I got my 12mth done a couple of months back and it was a touch under $550. I did zero shopping around on that, I'm sure it could have been reduced by shopping around, but my local is particularly convenient for me and I hate negotiating with no leverage, so I pay the lazy tax.
