Jeep service costs

Guy's, I know this information is dotted around other threads but I was looking to get an idea of reasonable or unreasonable service cost experience in one place. My CRD's up for a 20K service (oil service message just came up). I've been quoted around $500 at Albion Brisbane and just over $600 at Salters Moorooka. I know we can always do better by supplying our own oil, but as far as the above prices are concerned, anybody have similar quotes/costs? PS, My 10k service was $430 at Albion.

Re: Jeep service costs

Good idea to get this in the one thread. Might even be better to break up into 10,000 and 20,000 etc. ?

Re: Jeep service costs

Paid the same for both my 10 & 20k service.
$295 if I did the oil or $480 for them to do the oil.
This price included a loan car from SVM Artarmon.

Re: Jeep service costs

Paid $395 for 10 K service at macarthur jeep + loan car. They use Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5-30W. they didn’t rotate the tyres although it was a list item in invoice. I found most dealers will reduce the service price if you quote that you found a better deal, however cheapest I could find in Sydney for 10k service was $395.

Cheers Mendo, looks like Albion are about right. Also worth noting my "service oil" message came on at 20k. It didn't come on at 10k!! Just goes to show the service intervals are too frequent in Australia compared to the rest of the world. I didn't plan to spend $1000 on oil and filters, however I didn't expect to drive 20k in 9 months!

Re: Jeep service costs

I have just paid $290 for my 20K service and used the free oil filter coupon.
The service was preformed by Mcarther Jeep at Narellan.
They did the 10K service for $320.
They supplied oil etc.
I was quoted $395 however I did not take up the loan vehicale and just waited till the service was completed.
I will go back again for the 30K service.
I have had no issues with them and as long as I was there at 7:30 they would do my jeep first.
Great service so far.

Shepparton was $417.00 for 10K service total, Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 oil @ $205.20 and oil filter $50.00. Also carried out radio software enhancements, and taken photos of DRL holders that are scorched and sent to Jeep???????????

The scary thing is that the Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5W-30 (now) doesn't comply with the Jeep specifications. (regardless of what you will find on the web and since the formulation was changed in early 2012 - refer the "CRD oil on special" thread on here - and I have this in writing from Shell).
From the many posts over the months regarding dealer service costs it appears that there is no one oil that dealers use across the board. Some certainly use non complying oil in their one size fits all policy. As we know, oil price varies significantly.
While i think that comparing prices is great as a first step - it is far more important to ensure while comparing that your dealer of choice actually uses an oil that does comply with Chrysler spec. In the case of the CRD with EGR and DPF it is critical for the engine that correct oil is used to avoid buildup of ash in the intake and exhaust.
For my part I've supplied my own oil for the 10 and 20K services and will continue to do so.....both were in the order of $285 - but the 20k requires an air filter - non in stock however!! hence the reason 20 was the same as 10.

Re: Jeep service costs

$530 for a 20k Service at Albion, including new air filter. Next one should be around the $400 mark....and then for the "biggie"!!

I just had the "biggie" (40k) done, I purchased my own diff, engine oils and all filters, I rotated my tyres myself, that left only labor and a lot of brake, steering etc checks with a hookup to the mainsystem computer for updates etc as well as the mandatory sundry items, (oil drain plug washer etc)all up $268.00, on top of that filters cost $120.00 and oils $220.00 ( I have enough diff oil left for the next change) a grand total of $608.00 mmmm, I dont know if it would have been more or less from the dealer.
