Re: Laredo tyres at delivery

I think that the factory fitted rubber in some cases are half treads, or a rubbish compound.
I think we got the cheap compound on the JGC as the tread depth is ok at least on the kumos

Re: Laredo tyres at delivery

Perhaps they pick the tyre with the least rolling resistance regardless of anything else just to get the best fuel consumption figures. You know how people are, they'll pick one car over another because of a 1% difference in fuel consumption then put a roof rack on and leave it on.

I agree with this. I've had the same thoughts but convinced myself I was just being paranoid. The wrangler STs on my liberty were changed out at 30,000 miles & I probably left them on longer than I should have.

Another clue - when I started shopping for replacements, those tires (wrangler STs) were the cheapest tire available, by a bit.

Re: Laredo tyres at delivery

To be a fly in the ointment, my wife got 62,000km out of the OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 3 she had on her Honda Civic. But then that's Michelin, that's Honda and that's my wife who is not exactly a hoon although but a bit of a lead-foot on the freeway.
