No, I started with this process on the landcruiser, and I used my good quality pressure gauge. In that case I got the Mickey T ATs with the car, and they were already half worn. They were at 40psi cold and it felt too firm to me, so I started playing with pressures. When I got the STMaxx on the GC, I did the same process and came up with the same pressures. 36 cold. Wear has been even so far.

Maybe check with your TPMS on a hot day (shouldn't have to wait up there).

Just after you start driving, once the sensors update vs 30 minutes or so in.

Re: let's talk tyre pressure

My MY12 Jeep has 36psi on the tyre placard which is what I run cold. Have always had great wear from our tyres.

Its all in bar, so I don't tend to compare it much, but generally in summer it starts on 2.5 and goes up to 2.8.... from memory it is like 0.1-0.2 less for both readings in winter.

On another topic, I bought myself a Tigerz11 thumper aircompressor for christmas, it is a solid unit and fast.

Re: let's talk tyre pressure

So today at 25 degrees pressure started at 2.5bar and went to 2.8 after 30 mins of 60-80kph driving and some traffic lights. I'll check on the way home, it will be 30+ degrees by then. Not expecting any real hot days like you can get in Melbourne.... don't think we have cracked 34 this summer.

Re: let's talk tyre pressure

Since new, I put 36psi all around. Now with 26K miles on them, 14k of them towing a caravan, they are evenly worn. I also rotate them every 7.5K.

I use 36psi even when towing and when warmed up, I see 40psi all around.

Re: let's talk tyre pressure

I used an operational 40psi on the OEM Latitudes and squeezed over 65k from them (and could have pushed this to over 70k) with very even wear.

I've always used a higher pressure than manufacturer spec with great results in both wear and road handling.
