It's very pleasant, drove 600 ks on the weekend and still have a full tank! Now to wait for some cheap fuel!!

Re: long range fuel tank installed - crd

Be careful, when changing my tyres over found the installers had driven a self tapping screw for the tank earth into the bottom of the spare wheel well, it protruded approx 1cm and was rubbing on the tyre wall. Glad this was picked up before my nice new tyre was subject to the corrogations on the way to cape York!

Re: long range fuel tank installed - crd

First serious off road outing today and managed to put a nice big dent in my shiny new long range tank whilst climbing a steep rutted and rocky hill out of Lithgow. So the tank does reduce the departure angle a little. Other than that we kept with a number of 2 and 4 door wranglers through hills, rivers, ruts and mud. Jeep jamboree has 600 plus people and some great tracks each day though a few cars being repaired tonight!!

LRA tanks are pretty tough....as long as it's not seeping at a weld somewhere and hopefully you haven't reduced the capacity significantly.
You hoped the Jeep would do the job - keep out there enjoying!!!
I'm jealous

Re: long range fuel tank installed - crd

And now a much larger dent in the ecb bull bar after a losing argument with a large log! I will have to see if ecb can do a cut and weld job!!

That hill descent setting is a winner on steep rocky tracks and other than the limited clearance this car is pretty good offroad.

Two more days of offloading with the jeep club should keep the excitement going, no more vehicle alterations would be good though.
