Same it seems at my local one.
He checked my rego which had the vin and it came straight up.
In talking with him they are looking at replacing ones when they come in for service.

I still have NFI about the wait time on the right hand side shaft.

How did you go on Sunday?

Re: Loose Front Half Shaft Boots My14 GC

dealer basically said the techs plug their diagnostics in which connects directly with JEEP USA so if anything is wrong they would fix. he couldnt tell me much more than that since service was shut on the weekend. but as everyone said here probably best to wait for symptoms and have it done? I only drive it on weekends so the car wont be used as much for now. does driving it more make it happen quicker or?

Re: Loose Front Half Shaft Boots My14 GC

I think I suggested getting it checked and replaced before completing the deal.
Its nothing to panic about but some people have experienced symptoms at very low klm and others like me at a few thousand klms.

Re: Loose Front Half Shaft Boots My14 GC

Almost 2000 Kim's without any cv boot issue. I will keep checking though. Also going to call the dealer with the tsb reference to see if my vin is affected.

Re: Loose Front Half Shaft Boots My14 GC

Build date is march 4 do just at the beginning of the issue. So I might be ok or still have the issue. No signs of it until now though.

Re: Loose Front Half Shaft Boots My14 GC

I lasted at least another 1000klms. It m8ght be worth talking with your dealer now and seeing if at the 3000klm check up they could replace it.
At least you wont have to wait for the parts?

Exclamation Re: Loose Front Half Shaft Boots My14 GC

just climbed under our 2 week old march 2014 build on a recommendation from chocco and we have NO CLAMPS ON THE LARGE SIDE OF BOTH FRONT DRIVE SHAFTS
should we act "DUMB" and wait till the grease starts to leak or go to a dealer and ask it to be fixed? we have no loyalty to any dealer at the moment. we have 3 to choose from, 2 close to the misses work, 1 being city jeep where we purchased, or 1 handy to home just 10 minutes from home.

Jesus really ? Mate take it to a service centre straight away do you really want grease everywhere just to prove to them ,you have seen the photos of the mess it makes not to mention how dangerous it is if it leaks onto your brakes , you or someone could have an accident . Just my 2 cents worth I'm no mechanic but the mess that grease makes looks bad ..
