Hi Mate,
Scroll up to the first couple of threads on this post to see pictures. Part number is MOPAR 68084597AB and is described on the packet as SEAL HOOD. I see you're in Brissy. Both Albion and Mansfield rip off the original seal which simplifies installation of the bonnet protector. MM1964 kindly posted the Bonnet Protector installation instructions that clearly show the seal retained in position. I posted photos that show a purple dye in car wash suds running in my air intake proving why IMHO the seal should be retained. That was under moderate water pressure. God knows what happens when your driving throught torrential rain at speed, or worse still, water fording. (PS Our US friends refer to this seal as a snow seal to stop build up of snow flakes around the air intake). Either way, its there for a good reason. EDIT: I can see the part availabe in the US for around $7USD. Jeez, the dramas I had getting a new one supplied!!!!

Thanks Glenn.

I might talk to someone over at Albion tomorrow and see if I can get them to replace it when I get my front recovery hook installed.

Otherwise I might just get one from the US and do it myself if they make it too difficult. Where in the US did you see it for $7USD?

Just cut and paste the part number into google. There's heaps of outlets stocking this part number.

I tried to order the seal from Albion CJD but they said it would be $40, they'd have to get it from the US & it would take 4 weeks so I said I'd get it myself.

Good news is though, they found a front recovery hook for me and it gets fitted on Monday.

I personally wouldn't settle for that. $40 for a $7 part and that's a marked up price is ....welll....enough said. Print off the instructions and take it into Craig and demand a replacement. The seal is clearly retained as shown on the instructions, its a bit of a bugger to retain but "do-able", the easiest approach being to rip it off hence the reason in your's and mine case it was missing. Have a close look at the underside of the bonnet. Can you see any residual glue where the seal was. Go have a look at new ones on the lot and show him the seal in situe.
