Jarrid good work on getting this all done. It must have seemed like a never ending pain in the arse.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that you could get more clearance under the trunnions by indexing the ball mount so the top of the ball is "closer to the car". This has the effect of changing the take up point where the trunnions "load up"... so they will be higher, without any other differences.

Provided you have a minimum of 4 working links on the chains all is well, so it looks like you could give a few away without issues.

Perhaps you are on to this and all the adjustment at the ball has been used up?

Wouldn't want any more tension on them. Only adjustment is up or down on the hitch or "leaning" ball back by using the cams (it is as vertical as it can get currently). Up or down is about right I think, but leaning them using the cams I think would make it worse as it can only go the other way and would put the trunnions on more of an angle (pointing further down). If I was going to do it properly I would put a spacer under where the tow ball is attached to the trailer to allow me to effectively raise the whole mechanism up by the corresponding amount.

Anyway, it is way better than where I started...

Yes indeed.

I'm not suggesting more tension... instead the adjustment of the cams to tilt the ball forward from the vertical alignment you have now. This would position the trunnions closer to the drawbar... however if there's no scope to make that adjustment then it is what it is.

Note you might have to de-rate the ball if raising it, so that probably isn't going to work.

Re-read your post and I think you were saying the same thing about the leaning of the ball, but unfortunately that's all the adjustment there is.

When I am talking about raising the ball I mean the entire tow ball receiver assembly by using a solid packer that is still bolted through and attached at the same point to the Ali, just making it a bit higher.
