Guys

Be sure to vent your frustration to Chrysler Jeep customer care line, ask for a case number and demand a fix.

I wonder if the following TSB applies to us Aussies?

If everyone with Nav fitted can complain we MIGHT get some action... Paying $80K+ for a car with useless Sat Nav is not on...

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Hello to all.

I am currently waiting for my Dealer to get the update discs for the Nav Radio as per TSB 08-053-12. This TSB was released as a RRT (Rapid Response T for ??)

While it doesn't directly address our issues, it does include a suit of upgrades for the Nav radio that does touch on the Nav system.

Has anybody else had this TSB applied and has it helped the Nav system in any way?

Re: Navigation System Quirks

I am surprised that dealers are still awaiting software disks to be delivered to them in this day and age.
Have they not heard of online downloading for software distribution?
That TSB was released weeks ago. I would have thought dealers would have had it within days, even if they are relying on the postman.
Maybe Jeep Australia are holding onto it to ensure the disk is round at the corners and shiny before release?

Hi Sox

Do you mean has the software been updated through the dealer or downloaded from the internet and self installed?

Yes, I'm surprised that it's not a simple download then upload to the Jeep.

If it would only fix the woefull SatNav I am not to fussed how they do it. Just means more waiting till they get the disc.

For a RRT - Rapid Response T...? the delivery process is not that Rapid.

Hi sox

The software upgrade from TSB 08-053-12 from the dealer that I am waiting for is for version 2.126, so still one version older than what you are saying as 2.136.

Is there listed anywhere the differences between 2.126 and 2.136?

Re: Navigation System Quirks

The official software is 2.126.
However SOX has uploaded the TSB ( ***New Software Application MyGIG Update RHR-RHW-RHP 2.136***) as 2.136 which you can download and install yourself if you feel competent.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Thanks to SOX, I was able to download this TSB and install it.
Good new is that the install works fine, without any problems.
Bad news is that it does nothing to fix the routing issues. It still uses longer routes rather than the shortest, even if shortest is selected. I guess you just cannot turn crap into gold.
With the TSB installed, I could not see any noticeable changes in anything connected with navigation. Perhaps if I input a whale watching location 10 klms offshore?
