Re: Navigation System Quirks

Just had "the nav fix" from a disk sent upto my dealer from HQ Melb.
Had to laugh. All it was, was the old version 2.126 software. The dealer said he did not install it because I already had 2.136, and it would only be a backward step. Have told HQ about it and they are going to go back to the person who supposedly supplied the "updated software" This really is a joke. Seems no one at Jeep HQ has a real clue about TSB's and the way to properly release them to the dealers. They certainly do not have a clue on how to address the issues with Nav routing.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Sounds like the dealer just had the 2.126 disc but not the very latest disc. The latest disc is "unmarked" and a burnt copy rather than a printed Chrysler Disc. But don't worry, as the unmarked disc is still only version 2.136 so you have missed nothing.

I wonder if people that own the 300C's are having the same issues?

Dealer rolled back my 2.136 from "sox" to 2.126!! Not their fault as they probably didn't check, but now need to reinstall including gracenotes update. 2.136 far superior to 2.126 but not related to the Nav....although I have stumbled upon adding more POI's.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Well, after getting the feedback from the dealer, that my software (2.136) was more up to date than the latest fix from HQ Melb (2.126), they decided to leave things the way they were, I turned up to collect my car, and the dealer stated that after they spoke to me, HQ Melb called them and instructed them to roll back my software to 2.126 as that was the "fix". Talk about being peed off.
I am now at the stage of calling on Fair Trading to intervene.
HQ Melb also informed me, after I pointed out their new software was in fact old, that another so called fix was in the works, due for release in a few weeks. I promptly told them that that is exactly the same story they told me in May of last year. I can confirm that neither 2.126 or 2.136 is a fix for the routing issues.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

So if we were to go to fair trading we all would have to do it in our own state?
How could we do this as a combined action?

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Good question. I would be interested if it could be combined. Maybe first step would be to write a combined letter to Jeep HQ.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Good news (I think). Just got off the phone from the Chrysler Help line. They advised that a map update is now available, however an I.T issue with Navteq is holding up deployment. Some issue with their system and VIN numbers.

Fingers crossed that this fixes the problems. Maybe we should hold fire another week.
