Seems you have a newer version of the software!?

Also, anyone know what TMC means in the top right hand corner

Re: Navigation System Quirks

TMC (traffic management channel) is the Traffic Alert System. It generally (in Oz) feeds through the FM Radio and alerts you to traffic holdups ahead on your route.
It is run by SUNA in Australia. You have to pay for it.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

My understanding is that the TMC will not work in Aust, and the dealer has also confirmed this.
Are you saying that we can get that TMC to work here?

Re: Navigation System Quirks

You need to contact SUNA to find out whether they support Jeep

Re: Navigation System Quirks

My pioneer in my old jeep has TNC through FM radio. Works in Perth. Don't know who provides it.

Gabs how old is your Jeep?
They stopped using the REP in February/March 2011.

Car was built in June/July 11 took delivery in October. The Sat Nav was dealer fitted once it arrived. I have been arguing with them ever since about the unit being outdated and not the correct one. It wont Bluetooth stream music, I plug my Iphone 4 with the apple lead and it doesn't see it other than charge the phone and to top it all off it doesn't work well as a GPS. I punched in upcoming Easter trip in Navteq.com today total trip 169km 2hr 10min put the same in the car gps 276km trip 3hr travel time. I am fed up with it and not getting any joy from the dealer and dealing with Jeep Australia is like getting blood out of a stone. Love the car but hate the back up and lack of support from Jeep.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Does it have the cable in the console in front of the gear stick?
The one with the push button hatch.
Think it is a 6or 9 pin connector in there for the REP.
If not they have not installed the wire kit for that radio.
And who knows what other wire harness it requires that was not in your build.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Drove 400km return trip today.
Cant realy see nay difference.
But were I drove is not populated may be different in the city.
I turned on petrol stations in the POI to dispay on the map.
None showed up in Kalgoorlie.
Used it to navigate to the airport. I arrived there 1.5km before the airport.
If you were not a local the airport is not insight when it tells you have arrived.
The airport was move 18 years ago. This is a mapping issue. my old brandless 8 year old GPS $30 from DSE can find the airport.
