Re: Navigation System Quirks

Just did the latest RHP 2.126 update, and still the Navigation software has not changed. The system is still unable to correctly navigate without using major hwys outside of capital cities.
Is there anyone in Canberra with UConnect Navigation who can carryout a simple test.
If so, from Canberra, input a destination of Batemena Bay. Theoretically it should direct you down the Kings Hwy.
When I do it, it wants to take me up the Hume to Sydney, then back down the coast via Princes Hwy. That is over 500klms, when the direct routs is just over 100klms.
No matter what modes you change, the system will not route correctly.
I made the trip last weekend, and the Nav System did not correctly route until 12klms west of Braidwood.

This is not good for jeep. Sand issues, recovery hook missing in 2012 and now this. What the hell. Feel like withdrawing my order.

I have seen this poor routing Goulburn to Batemans Bay even if you specify Shortest Route.
I think all that would be needed in the software would be an option to use Unverified Roads eg a checkbox.
On verified roads around the city for example I find the routing quite good.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

Just got back from Sydney trip. I pretty much knew where I wanted to head from Mudgee to Tamworth. Just for kicks I thought I would see what the Sat Nav suggests and was advised to take a route that would be just over 6hrs. I took my route which took under 4 hrs. While in towns such as Forster (NSW) it was advising me to take long since closed roads and right turns into no right turns that appeared fairly established. I cannot remember one occasion of the 15 or so times I have asked it for directions that it has got the entire journey right. The system almost completely useless until they get decent software.

Re: Navigation System Quirks

What a heap of SH*T the sat nav is! for a premium product. it took me miles out of my road from Wagga to Holbrook adding at least an hour to the trip.
$200.00 sat navs from dicks smiths can do the job better.
when are the software updateds ready??????????????????????
