Seen this?

Not sure whether it can be used on the Aussie MY12's due to the recovery hook issue.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Looks awesome but I don't think it will fit our 2012+ vehicles as you said due to hook issue and related chassis rail changes

I have sent an email to Rocky Road Outfitters asking them that question. I would be quite interested in the bar if it is compatible. Will post when I get a reply.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I sent another email to my dealer today regarding the elusive nudge bar with recovery points. Dealer says yes - there is a nudge bar available but not with recovey points. I have asked for a picture and price because I still don't believe anything I'm being told - I suspect it is still the old nudgebar that fits the 2011 model and not my 2012.

Rocky Road Outfitters have gotten back to me. They are having their engineers have a look at the photos I sent and will advise as to compatibility.

At this stage, they haven't determined compatibility with the ACC on the overlands. They will know within a couple of weeks.

Will update when I hear more.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I asked them a few weeks back about the ACC on the Overland, and they told me that they believed their setup would not interfere with it.
" It looks low enough that it shouldn't be an issue. I'm having our designer take a closer look though. The winch mount is completely covered by the bumper facia and the dome looks like it is well beneath that. "

This would be a solution to attaching the strap quickly and easily.

http://wmriggingnewport.wordpress.co...soft-shackles/

Lots of different places to buy from, and not hard to make your own either.

What a brilliant idea! Beats carrying around heavy clunky d-shackles and much safer if things start flying around. However, they seem to be mostly a DIY thing at the moment. Until they bring out Australian Standard rated soft shackles and I'm sure they will, I think I'll stick with what I've got.

From today's email written by Glenn Wakefield, the owner of Rocky Road Outfitters:

"We haven't determined compatibility yet on the AAC system. Should know that in a few weeks here."

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Hi Guys

Regarding the 2012 Tow hook solution, would anybody please advise whether there is a cover that still goes infront of the hook and can be removed and put back easily?

In other words does the hook get hidden in ordinary circumstances, with the front of the car looking as it did before the hook was installed?

Thanks

I have had the hook fitted and the original cover fits in place over it

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I believe so. I got mine put on at 10,000 service last week and it is behind the removable plastic cover on the passenger side. The drivers side has the removable cover for the screw in eye hook. Haven't got round to checking it out...
