Sorry if I have missed it in this thread but does anyone know if there are any front recovery changes for MY13?

Well I'll be. Yessirreo, someone at Jeep stuffed up allright, but tell me you didn't think something like this from the start. There has to be 2 production lines producing the 2 different chasis's. One for US Market (longer chasis) and the other (shorter chasis) for the Euro market. The US production line was full time producing GC's so easier to meet the Aus demand by switching our production to the Euro market line.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

After fitting a recovery hook last weekend, I think the chassis rails are the same it is more the radiator support panel is thinner with a strip of styrene stuck on the front. The support being thinner doesn't allow the US style hooks with the forward bolt positions enough area to attach.

Cheers
Adamt

I think it would be more someone with no real idea about 4wd's thinking of cost cutting and agreeing to the eye bolt thinking it would do the same thing. It would make sense all RHD vehicles are run down the same line. The specs of the build could always be different. It upsets me to think there are people in this industry who have NFI about the vehicles they are dealing with. Where's the passion? This appears to go right the way through the sales cycle and also after sales care.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Do you think anybody will put their hand up when the can screw the buyer for another $380 plus fitting for a Mickey Mouse tin pot solution that....sort of works ok with a specific strap and the lead bolt head in a specific location and always the risk of damaging the surrounding plastic during recovery? As a minimum, all retro fits should have been free, irrespective of what was in a brochure at time of purchase. As it stands, stock 2012's are not fit for purpose.

Where's the passion?
I've had a few discussions along these lines with the service manager at heartland castle hill. This dealer used to be a Holden franchise for maybe 30 years, and Ive been taking my work vehicles there for more than 5 years. Basically the service manager has told me that the people from Chrysler and the other brands they now have have no passion for the cars - they are basically 20 something uni grads who last year were selling white goods in retrovision or whatever.

He tells me that the old Holden regional reps loved Holdens, knew evey part of every model and their job was pretty much their hobby as well.

So you are right - their isn't any passion for the cars anymore. And as Ive noted before Clyde Campbell is a lawyer, so what do you expect.

OMG! I don't know what this means but it seems appropriate under the circumstances.
