If I find, as I suspect Studgun did, I know a welder who just might be interested in knocking up several brackets for these hooks. Maybe a bracket could be created that will support a locally made hook.
Good thinking! I'll be there with my camera.

Dropped into a south western sydney dealer today to ask about recovery hooks for the MY14 - just for the sport.
Got a call back today, dealer has ordered a set of recovery hooks and is going to see if he can fit them up to one of his demos - the same part number that our mate at Waitara had. I told him I had my doubts but he is going to give it try anyway. He has also made enquiry with HQ in Melbourne.

I'll give it a few days before I chase him again.

This really is going to take as many of us as possible to start hammering the dealers to get this resolved - that is what it took to get the crap MY12 hook developed. If you don't all make a noise - you won't get your hooks. I don't even have a MY14, so go your hardest everyone.

I wonder why the MY13 trail hawk has the correct recovery points fitted on delivery but the MY13 does not and the MY14 does not and it appears that they have different mounting points
Some one needs to explain
But won't hold my breath for action from Jeep AU

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

That's because Jeep Aust believe the Trailhawk is not a threat to pedestrian injuries, unlike a Laredo, Limited or Overland. I think they actually believe that a Trailhawk is in fact a bird that can fly over pedestrians.
Would love to get a photo of a Trailhawk with the air dam removed.

Things are afoot!

At the moment it needs to remain confidential (I know how frustrating it is when people make this sort of post - sorry).

Maybe 4 - 5 weeks away.

And I reserve the right to say "I told you so" in a few weeks time.

Yeah recovery points have been known to threaten corporate and national security

Jibes aside, I'll hold my progress then because I don't want an engineering bill with nothing to amortize it across! There again, if the solution is from Jeep at something like $360 each...

When I spoke to JA, they said the front hooks where currently being tested for Australian Standards. They expect them in stock at the dealers in 4-5 weeks.

Are JA's "hooks" both left and right, or is this another half @rsed offering as per the MY12 solution? If there's only going to be one side available, I might recommence the project I started prior to the "things are afoot" post which made me think that it wasn't worth proceeding.

Any info regarding development of a hook for the other side would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

Seeing they fitted the single MY12 hook to my MY14 jeep, I'd imagine it'll be dual hooks. Surely they wouldn't design another single hook for the MY14 if they could get away with fitting the one they already have.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I think you will find it is a single hook. I don't know what the "currently being tested for Australian Standards" comment is, as these have already been out for 12mths. Unless there is a new design for the MY14.?????

Yes, for the MY14. That's what she said, and that's what I need them for.

I'll be ordering a Uneek bullbar as soon as the taxman pays me my dues, and then my dual MY12+ hooks will be up for grabs.
