Snuke.

Yes it's a genuine mopar bar. Ordered it at sale not realising it had NO tabs fitted for lights etc. Hence the clamped brackets for the lights and aerial. If I had known that I would have waited, but that said many of the after market bars come with the big plate on the bottom which I do not like. I had a shark bar on my previous car (Sorento) that I did like. It had tubes where the plate is on the many after market bars (check them out on fleebay - KIA Sorento 2002 2009 Bull BAR Grill Nudge BAR | eBay).

The bar I have is a 2011 to 2012 model and as such does not have much clearance behind it for running wires etc. I think (pretty sure) I have posted other photos on the main page for Webber on this forum. Have a search and if not let me know and I can re post them here.

In the eager rush to get the car I found out that the dealer (check the photo) did not have anything but the 2011 brackets in stock and as such could not fit the bar until I provided part numbers etc that I got from this forum.

Overall am reasonably happy, but run the risk that a movement of about 1/2 inch will damage the front bumper. Main plan is to have no collisions that result in such an event.

Regards

Adrian

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Hello all, American here. I've been trying to read through this whole thread because I am interested in the tow eye hook/retainer/bracket for my 2014 SRT. I would like to install this becuase I need a front tow point when I go to the race track. Apparently these parts are not available for the US models through the dealer. I have looked behind my grill/front bumper and I do have 2 drilled holes in the frame rail where this should mount to. The SRT cannot use the double front recovery hooks like the other WK2 models can, so that is not an option. Additionally, I only need this tow hook to be strong enough for a safety truck to pull me off track if I have a mechanical issue. Does anyone know where/how I could get these parts??
The part numbers I need are:
68172208AA
5291889AC
68139312AB

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Cheers!

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

You most probably will not get the answers to your questions from us in Australia, as our front chassis is different to the US models, due to European Idiot Safety Concerns.
What is happening for us in Oz is that local offroad suppliers are manufacturing parts which will fit our front ends. These would probably not fit yours.

I agree with AllyPally, no point looking for bits down under. However, Factory OEM Parts in Tampa FL have all three parts listed, see http://www.rtpartsco.com/oemparts/je...139312AB-.html . They have a good online service.

I have the screw-in tow eye and bracket which was removed when my bullbar was fitted. I'll send you some photos and if it is what you're after you can have it for the price of postage.

On the positive side, it looks like the mounting brackets for the Jeep Nudge Bar are very similar to the Jeep Australia recovery hook. I can't say for sure, but it looks like you could bolt 2 of the Jeep Australia recovery hooks to the inside of your mounting brackets. You would only need the hooks, you already have the mounting hardware required.

On the other hand, after looking at the Jeep Nudge Bar, we've decided if there was enough demand, we might release a Nudge Bar.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Bill
Hi Bill,

If you want to see one in person I have a MY12 with nudge bar fitted. I'm on the Gold Coast.

You may be able to just supply hooks for these rather than brackets too?

Happy to let you investigate.

Kev.

Edit: just had a look and your brackets are too wide, as well as the hook where the holes are.

Yeah, those are the parts! How much do you think it would cost to send them to California? My city is La Mesa, 91942.

Sure thing. I work night shift as well, so I know how it goes. No rush.
