I've spent the day out at Turon river and have first hand seen an unrated recovery point let go. Scary. Ill post a video later.

Had a fantastic day. Up and down some long steep hills. River crossings. Rocks and dust. I love my jeep - so capable.

Hmmm.

Sorted the file format but now says I need a security key to upload.

Any ideas anyone? What am I doing wrong?

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

So I think we have got there.

On my trip to Turon River on Sunday one of our group got beached in a mud hole - nothing serious, just a little deep for the ground clearance. So our leader hooked up a snatch strap for a slow drag out. Not a full on snatch recovery - just a slow drag. The "recovery point" let go and scared the daylights out of me.

Link here, best with sound :

So if you don't think you need a proper recovery point, think again....

And thanks Snuke for helping to post the video - you are a gentleman.

My goodness! Any damage to the leader's car... or the back of his head? I guess it was the recovery hook on the nudge bar that let go. Would you be prepared to tell us the make of the nudge bar?

So how did you get him out?
