No damage to either car - good luck more than anything. The pull car was facing the jeep, so the D shackle on the end of the snatch strap hit its bull bar. The jeep had a steel " recovery point" mounted to the nudge bar bracket - looked strong but the steel just ripped in half. We ended up pulling the jeep out from the rear off its tow bar.

Don't know the brand of nudge bar.

I know there was a false alarm a few months ago, but I have an independent and reliable ( I hope) sighting of recovery hooks on a MY14. Hope to have a photo soon.....

Got a photo but....no.

Thats it.

I'm done.

Another blind alley.

After two years of my life chasing the recovery hooks I am now resigned to the fact that Jeep Aus are never going to develop twin recovery hooks to replace the stupid single one they currently have.

Over.

Off to Morton island in a few weeks so going to put just one recovery hook on. This is the Mopar one for the export models.

Yes you are most likely correct about Jeep Australia
But i saw on the forum new recovery hooks for both front rails by an after market supplier should not be far away from production and sale
I hope

My Sydney dealer showed me on Thursday the genuine MY14 Jeep Recovery Hook just released.
Yep touched it myself in a genuine Jeep box.

Note singular 'hook' only a single RH (ot LH?) hook can be fitted for about $380 ish. Its a spindly hook end with mounts that appear much like the discussed 3rd party ones we're all sweating on, who will now have zero Mopar competition.

Which dealer? Against my better judgement, I'm intrigued. The one I have seen on a MY14 is exactly the same as on my MY12.

These are front recovery hooks, so not sure what you've seen on a MY14. As discussed here ad nauseaum rocking horse droppings are more prevalent than MY14 front hooks. The dealer is SVM Mosman part of Suttons Grp. Does this help?

Got myself some recovery hooks and attempted to have a look at fitting them.
My tow eye bracket looks different to the one above. It has a shaft of some sort covering the bolt, so not sure how to remove it so I can fit the hooks.

I think GMWK2 might be referring to the MY12 recovery hook that was fitted to my MY14 at a dealership back in August. Hopefully the one your speaking of is a whole new design.
I had to use it last weekend down at Yeagarup and just getting the strap on the hook was a mission, I can't wait until chief products release their recovery hooks.
