Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

My apologies for the lack of updates lately. I had to go in to hospital for some minor procedures on my back. Nothing too serious, but it left me without the time to keep everyone up-to-date. On the positive side it didn't slow down development, we've kept the whole process moving along.

Since my last post, we did a bit of testing on the current prototypes. That testing led us to make a few tweaks;

- Moved the mounting holes a few mm to one side for easier installation and better clearance of the air dam openings.
- Tweaked the shape of the hook to maximise clearance inside the air dam opening.
- Tweaked the shape of the middle mounting plate to provide more clearance behind the air dam.
- Increased the size of the hole on WK2 Recovery Point, to better fit 4.75T bow shackles.

We also moved to a new manufacturing process that significantly lowered costs. I hope to have the final prototypes in my hands by the end of the week.

I'm doing my best to develop a top quality product that is ready-to-go as soon as possible. I know everyone is anxious to get these bolted to their WK2s.

Cheers,
Bill

I had to use it last weekend down at Yeagarup and just getting the strap on the hook was a mission, I can't wait until chief products release their recovery hooks.

According to the dealer the Jeep hooks were Jeep Australia's design in response to the known issues. But the mounts look exactly like the excellent Chief ones discussed here. Only hooks no eyes.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Well after what seems forever, I got tired of waiting, & I can now unveil my MY14 GC with Genuine Mopar front recovery hooks installed
Nothing on the GC was modified/drilled/taped/cut what so ever, they can be removed and you wouldn't even know they were once fitted.
They also work well as a recovery hook too!
Booked in on the 6th of Jan to have the hooks bright chromed
Cheers

Tell me how? Has Jeep Australia come to their senses and making them like that?

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Nothing to do with Jeep Aust. at all. As I said, got sick of waiting so designed what was necessary to install them.
Looks like Jeep Aust. have finally come to their senses & are bringing them in with them on. Lucky future owners, stuff the early '14 GC buyers hey.
No I won't be showing how these were installed, sorry

Not going to share how you did it, how come? Is your GC an early build?

Ok, I'm totally bemused now. I have the genuine parts and the dealer went to fit them and he said they don't fit. A number of dealers have tried and all came up empty. Now you say you have an early build date and they fit?
