Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I'm posting this just for a laugh. I paid the money and I had the recovery hook fitted to my MY12. Can't see that I'll ever be able to use it!

As the OP I'm disappointed in Justins' posts. Why bother showing them off? That isn't the spirit of the forum. If I came across you stuck I wouldn't pull you out because I couldn't be comfortable you fixed them properly.... Wouldn't want a tow hook in the back of the head.... Happy 4wding....

Sorry you feel that way.
Was showing that it is possible to install them, that's all. However not comfortable in showing the members here how I did it, if my idea failed on someone elses GC I'd feel terrible, and just stating "do this at your own risk" wouldn't make me feel less responsible.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

You guys shouldn't get too upset over JustinS's attitude. Most likely JustinS is not an engineer and the fittings have not been engineered. He is willing to take the risk of failure on his vehicle but not on somebody else's vehicle and rightly so. An indemnity is no use at all. He is not an engineer so can't be held legally responsible. If he was an engineer he would be held liable under the law of tort regardless of an indemnity.

LOL. I thought that too when first had a look at mine. You have to remove the ribbed bit and the one in your photo.

Then why bother posting? I have a set of genuine Mopar front hooks sitting in my hall way at this very moment. However I am smart enough not to install them in the same botch job manner you have. If you ever need to use them and they fail your life is not on the line, you're safely in your drivers seat. It is the poor sucker pulling you out that cops it. As I said... Why both posting? You claim you would feel terrible if some one copied your design and it failed, what about if someone now decides, hell I can make them fit just like Justin did..

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

If you have doubts based on safety then posting what you did lets others see if there are any genuine concerns that can help you, or as Auscop pointed more importantly the person pulling you out.

I was pretty pissed when I saw your posts last night, but thought you must be joking to dangle a bone in everyones face then hold it back.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

On Friday I received the final prototypes for Chief Products WK2 Recovery Hook & WK2 Recovery Point. They're not painted and looking fancy yet, but I thought you guys might like to see them anyway. They're set to go into full production right after the holidays.

I'm also happy to announce, Chief products website is 99% complete and will launch after the holidays.

We're excited to get these first products out the door and onto everyone's WK2, we know everyone is anxious to get them. We've got a lot of other great WK2 products in development for 2014.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. Merry Christmas!

Cheers,
Bill

I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get to see the pics before he deleted them.
To this day it always amuses me how people with a little bit of information think they are almighty powerful gods and have to keep it all to themselves. Problem with this is that if no one knows you have the information it's useless so you have to brag about the fact you have some info you're not going to share.

No doubt Justin has the best intentions and good on him for having a crack.
But I have to also agree with Mendo here... Better off keeping it to yourself if you aren't going to or don't want to share with everyone else on this public forum.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Excellent news Bmackin, do you think you'll have enough stock for the initial demand or will it be a case of first in first served, if so please pm me the release date so I secure a set for myself LOL.
Same goes for the skid plate.

Hey Wadeaus,

Thanks for letting us know you're interested. We're hoping to have enough stock for initial demand, but it can be difficult to gauge demand accurately.

When we start selling, it will definitely be a case of first in first served, so I've added you to our pre-order list. When we launch the website, it will list the official shipping date for these products, as well as allow customers to pre-order.

Cheers,
Bill
