Overlands have been coming with chrome front hooks for a month or two.

And another :

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK Overland MY2014 Sports Automatic Cars For Sale in SA - CarPoint Australia

Obviously the line we were fed that the hooks could not be fitted due to pedestrian safety was a complete lie. What a suprise...

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Well I think it is clear they can't be fitted on pedestrian safe front ends. Adrian from Switzerland's pics show this pretty clearly too. Either the new overlands are not pedestrian safe, or Jeep have changed the design of the hook brackets. In which case there should be a new part number for them.

My limited arrives in March, interesting to see if it has any front end changes.

- Hooks ordered on Amazon
- 2 Brackets made from 1cm / 2cm thick steel
- cutting a small part of the front "cross member" (or how do you call that thing?)
- an afternoon of time

Pics see below, if you've got questions feel free to ask.

Just wanted to say thanks for those detailed pics, they are the most detailed I've seen in demonstrating the problem with fitting original hooks to the pedestrian safe front end.

So who is going to rock down to their local dealer on the weekend and ask if the overland hooks can be fitted to ltd and Laredo?

I actually went to do this last week - saw what I thought was an overland but turned out to be a summit. Why anyone would pay the extra for a summit is beyond me. I thought at first it was an overland with spider monkey wheels from a distance. I didn't ask as the sales people at castle hill are useless.

No overlands at all at castle hill at the mo, but they still have a trailhawk.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I could only find 3 overlands with hooks on carsales, the 2 already listed in Vic and SA, and this one north of Sydney:
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK Overland MY2014 Sports Automatic

Looks to be

McCarroll's Chrysler Newcastle..... anybody live near there?

Second that on the castle hill sales people being useless... Add to that the turnover they have had over the last 18 months

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

After some advice from those who have played with these before.
How do I remove the factory tow eye bracket when it has this threaded shaft concealing the front bolt?
Does anyone else have this setup and how did you remove it?
