It just all seems too tight.

Next time I'm near the 4x4 shop ill have another crack at finding a shackle that will fit.

Very frustrating to say the least.
No worries. A 4.74 tonne shackle is the one to try - got mine from Roadrunner Off-road

Thanks for the link to roadrunner Benaldo - I have just ordered one of the shackles, so I'll see if it fits in a few days time when it arrives.

So the shackle arrived that I ordered from road runner and as I suspected it won't fit in the cutout in the MY12 bumper. The opening in the shackle is not quite big enough to go over the hook either. So still no joy.

If anyone with an MY14 and a JA recovery hook wants the shackle its yours - send me a PM (I'm in the hills). No use to me. It would be good for another forum member to verify the setup that Benaldo has been able to achieve.

Good service from roadrunner by the way - ordered lunch time Monday and arrived today (Wednesday).

Bugger! no good then.

If the cutout in your bumper was as big as the MY14's you would have room to jiggle the shackle onto the hook. It is a neat fit and won"t go on at an angle. But is no use to on your MY12 bumper - I know.

Just keep it for joining your snatch straps GM :sly:

If you're reading this and don't know that it's a joke, hand in your recovery gear immediately!

I've got plenty of other shackles around for firing into the back of other cars if I want!

Just making the offer if anyone with an MY14 wants it - cost me a bit under $20 delivered but happy to let someone who can use this particular size have it and maybe verify Benaldos setup.

Why is your recovery hook so deep?

I'm hoping the stuff bills making would be closer to the OEM recovery hooks for the my11... I like the look of the my11 hooks, wider and exactly there conveniently located.....

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

It has taken a bit of time to get everything ready, but the moment is finally here. On March 1st, Chief Products is doing a pre-launch of our new website. Of course it will include full info and pricing for our WK2 Recovery Hook & WK2 Recovery Point, plus several other products. The website will be fully functional and ready to go, but I wanted to give the passionate WK2 owners that have been following us since the beginning a chance to get in there first.

Yes we have been waiting and keen to see what is on offer. Hopefully you have local support and supply in WA. Keen to get on the beach with a few more safety options. So far I haven't needed it yet, but with more trips planned, always best to be prepared.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Can anyone confirm that new overlands are coming from the factory with two front tow hooks? I read somewhere a post by Snuke that I thought said that
