People are often quite annoyed when you tell them it's this method rather than a snatch. I packed my shit up and drove off on more than one occasion.

Quite right! The video is talking about a straight line pull with a chain. It's probably OK but barely so. An inelastic winch extension strap would also be OK. It is definitely not OK for snatching. Standard snatch straps are rated at around 8,000 kg minimum breaking strength. That's 5 times the capacity of the Colorado's recovery point. The guy in the youtube clip is almost criminaly negligent in suggesting that the recovery point can be used for "a basic 4WD revovery". Even though he qualifies it as a straight line pull, he doesn't warn against snatching. Anyone watching the video could reasonable assume that the recovery points are OK for snatching as well. Let's hope it's covered in the manual and the owner reads it.

The worst bit about this pic is that they would likely have had a shackle on it, being a closed loop.... :cringe:

I like Simon Christie, but he is a bit compromised by his sponsorship with holden. But good on him for getting paid doing what he loves to do.

That's for hanging the water bag off

BTW, my Chief Products gear is in the mail. Looking forward to getting under the Jeep again. One of my favourite places.
