Noisy suspension (knocking)

If I take my Oct 14 build GC to the dealer and tell then the suspension is noisy, ie has a light knocking sound when going over bumps, will I get the old "They are all like that" line?

I've driven a few and can't say i've noticed a knocking noise in them when going up kerbs, over bumps etc. I'm thinking it's coming from shockie(s) at the rear.

Hmmm, I think I've heard this one before.....

There is a TSB for it.

edit: yours should have this fix already:
This bulletin applies to WK vehicles built on or before April 15, 2014 (MDH0415XX) equipped with Normal Duty Suspension (sales code SDA) plus Rear
Load Leveling Suspension (sales code SES) or Export Tuned Suspension
(sales code SDM) plus Rear Load Leveling Suspension (sales code SES)

Maybe get them to check the shocks for leaks.....

Re: Noisy suspension (knocking)

Thanks Benno, one would have thought mine wouldn't have that issue based on build date, but you never know Good to know it's been 'heard before' so armed with that ammo, I'll approach the dealer.

Re: Noisy suspension (knocking)

Mine is the same. Done 12,000 Klm's.

It also seems to be coming from the rear shockers.......I haven't got QL.

Cheers, Craig

Thanks Benn0 for the post. Mine is Jan 14 Build and I've noticed clunking this last week. So I've printed it off to add with the "pulling to the left 4-5 sec and it's on the verge TSB" to my 40k service on Monday.

So much Great info on this forum, you need to be retired to find it all !

Re: Noisy suspension (knocking)

Out of interest, the dealer picked up the knocking in mine and tightened the shock mounts at the last service, i'm on first name terms with the chief mechanic there nowadays which helps!

Re: Noisy suspension (knocking)

Cheers KiZ302, just picked up vehicle from service. I'm very happy with it all.

Full wash too.

The have ordered the brackets in the TSB

Pulling to the left: They have rotated the tyres but I've yet had the chance to test is properly

Re: Noisy suspension (knocking)

Booked mine in today for the rear shock mount bushes. They replaced both shocks and mounts. The dealer tech said they come as a unit now. Just about out of warranty 98700ks and 2 days left and FCA replace shocks and mounts
