Has anyone looked into a US shipping address and freighting that way?
Postage in the USA is generally more expensive than Australia, however, to be fair to vendors such as JustforJeeps, they outsource the international freight to a freight company, so my issue is more with Boingo or Fedex etc.

Having said that, the freight for 2 x fuel filters on the site I found is $45.28, which is comparable to USPS. However, especially at this time of year, USPS is a lot less reliable for delivery times than Fedex or DHL in my experience. Boingo is hopeless based on the rockrails I bought from Justforjeeps.

USPS is the least reliable freight service, although generally cheaper than Fedex or DHL.

I don't know why JustforJeeps doesnt give bongo the flick and use a different carrier.

JustforJeeps put an order in for me and was given a similar story but then within a day or two a box full miraculously arrived so I was OK.

Re: Now its fuel filter prices!!!

I'm trying the westfil filters on this service. They claim to be equivalent quality and are only $25.40 ea. See Jeep service costs for a more detailed post about part costs.

I've been running these filters for my 30,000km and 40,000km services, now have 45,000km on the clock and have had no problems, I'll continue to use Westfil filters as the mopar ones are a complete rip off

Re: Now its fuel filter prices!!!

Update: I had the 40k service today. The latest gouge is as follows-
06507741AA - Drain plug $24.71
68079487AA - Cabin Air Filter $68.54
68229402AA - Oil Filter $80.00 !!!!!!!

I didn't think you could use gold leaf as a filter medium....

This is probably my last service before warranty expires. I will be going aftermarket from then on.

Re: Now its fuel filter prices!!!

The drain plug seems a bit steep too. Isn't it possible to just change the washer?

Why wait until you are out of warranty. There is nothing in the warranty that says you have to use Mopar parts. In fact all the manual states is that you should use quality filters. I have been using aftermarket from new,I just give them to the Jeep when they do the service and they have no issues.
Current prices on Wesfil are
Fuel $40.75
Oil $13.55
Air $18.65
The last cabin filter I got was from Ryco, about $25 for a carbon one.

Now its fuel filter prices!!!

Yep I run a Repco Carbon filter and the Wesfil air filter. Just advise the service dept. not to change them on the service.

Re: Now its fuel filter prices!!!

Yeah I wasn't aware of that, Trevor. Too late now for me.
Snuke, my invoice was pretty much that to a T. I think they took the price of the sump plug out of sundries, as the two add up to $45.

I was initially charged for a new key fob battery ($11). But when I told him I did both fobs a fortnight ago, he promptly dropped that charge. I bought 2 fob batteries for less than $8 from the local IGA.
